Lead system architect Mark Cerny declines to give total title count, but says developer familiarity with platform the reason for strong support.

The PlayStation 4 will have the strongest software launch lineup inPlayStation history. That's according to lead system architect Mark Cerny, who told Gamasutra that this is the result of developers being familiar with the system's PC-based architecture.

"The launch lineup for PlayStation 4--though I unfortunately can't give the title count--is going to be stronger than any prior PlayStation hardware," Cerny said. "And that's a result of that familiarity."

Previously confirmed PS4 launch titles include Killzone: Shadow FallWatch DogsDriveClub, and Knack.

Sony has confirmed the PS4 will launch this holiday season, but has not announced region-specific availability or pricing for the next-generation platform.

GameStop believes the console will launch worldwide this holiday, while an unconfirmed report suggests two models will be available in November at $430 and $530.

i'M BETTING BETWEEN 449 AND 499.

Please just let Infamous Second Son be available Day one. I want that far more than I do Killzone(tho I do like that series as well). My Day One pickup will be Infamous SS, Watch Dogs, and probably KZ.

"title count"  LOL..  It's all about the quality of true exclusives. The rest of the games can be played on Nextbox or PC.

Hopefully they spread them out evenly for the first 2 years.

If anything, a lack of Ridge Racer is a positive.

Every time, lol

What has been confirmed so far would be enough for that. Only Vita had some decent 1st party support at launch, I think, although I don't remember the launch titles for PS1+PS2

In before people start calling this spinning or marketing speak. Just remember who is talking

The PS2 launch was not that great, with Tekken Tag and SSX being only games I remember fondly.  Then had a good 8 month draught afterward.  Yet, it went on to be unstoppable in sales and support so who knows.
