Am I the only one who thinks the TV stream is a bad idea? It means they're going to try to put up a show. A console revealing isn't supposed to be entertainment, its supposed to be informative. We want specs, we want game announcements and we want to know what makes this different from the competition.

So please Microsoft, keep this as press conference-y as possible. Keep the showbiz stuff out of it. We don't need to see Usher performing his latest single.

For pity sake.

I doubt anyone else had even thought of it... but now.....

Its a BRILLIANT idea.  Its called marketing.  They may even show us a console... not guaranteed... but you never know.

Seriously... You care about singers doing their brain-numbing pop crap during such events? O_o

Maybe it's marketing... Yeah. But the audience they're targetting with that kind of empty fillers isn't on the majority side, I'd wager. Those kind of segments are all flash, no substance to me.

Well Spike TV isn't your normal CBS, NBC, ABC or shit whatever channel it is from my understanding more hardcore(Gametrailers.com) besides they always stream MS's Xbox conference(2 years straight now on E3)

Ok,... And what does it have to do with anything? MS is the one creating the event. Spike is only broadcasting it.

Oh god, sure MS is creating the event but Spike apparently said yes to broadcast it because they like what MS is going to show us and it appeals to their audience aswell as Microsoft's audience.

Going back to that Usher performance it was simply a promotion for Dance Central 3 sure it may have been cheesy in the gaming forum world but to the casuals who just buy the next Dance central game it was a pretty good marketing strategy. Keep in mind that I am not supporting another artist act in a future conference but seriously can we just drop the Usher thing it's not like MS has confirmed that they always will invite an artist to the conference they have.

Funny how low is the message count for such news. If this was the other side, the site would explode.

Ex Graphics Whore.

Yeah, obviously, Spike accepted to broadcast out of pure love for Microsoft...

That's a good one.

Expect Next gen COD reveal at the event. The timing is perfect.

Yeah it is kind of perfect timing for past CoD reveals, which are late April to early/mid May. Would be a big coup for MS, especially if they announce a next-gen extension of the CoD/Xbox partnership.

but the perrson above saying they dont even need to show it at E3 is kidding themselves.  That would be a very bad idea.

I assume you are talking about me.  And fair enough.  Everything left out of these presentations from MSFT and Sony should be shown at E3.  Completely agree.  What I was saying is it is not the most important thing either.  Software>Hardware in my opinion.  People complained about Sony not showing the PS4 at the conference and while I understand the complaints it really wasnt that big of a deal either. Advertising  to the bigger market will be more important than anything they do at the pre-E3 conferences.

Great stuff! Now we can finally put these rumors 2 rest!

Check out my Youtube channel : http://www.youtube.com/user/ThePSXcollector

I hope they dont showcase too many 3rd party stuff.

Show us the console. Talk about the vision for the future of Xbox. Show us the control schemes and upgrades. Show us the OS.

I want to see Black Tusk Studios, along with the next gen Kinect killer app. Throw in a drop of Forza and Alice Wake for the graphical showoffs.

End the show with a Halo tease and a "we will reveal more at E3, thanks for being with us today".

The truth is, I realised they didn't show the console only when I started thinking about it once the conference was over. During the conference, it didn't even cross my mind. I think it's mostly due to the tight pace of the conference. The focus they had was pretty spot on. I hope Microsoft wil do something as informative as Sony's.

Cash was the only deciding factor here. Don't kid yourself.  Spike TV may be enthusiast about MS's (or any of the other big guns) gaming side. But Viacom is only interested in their money.
