Very nice thread! I Believe PS3 will finish in 2nd on this generation and 360 in 3rd but things could change in a couple of years so I can be wrong. Who knows what games would be released in the future.

If you back them out to start at equal launches, you can see that Wii already has them beat combined. 20.6M to 9.3M and 8.4M

The week before PS3 started selling, X360 had sold 5.2M. Since that time, X360 has sold 11.5M more for a total of 16.7M. PS3 has sold 9.6M. Together, PS360 have sold, since the PS3 started selling, 21.1M versus the Wii 20.6M.
Since the 5.2M sales of X360 is 'fixed', once the Wii magic number gets down to 5.2M, the Wii will have sold as many as both other systems since all three were on the market.

updated, did not move too much due to falling sales in NA, Japan did not make up for lower NA sales. It still sold around 50,000 more than PS3 and 360 combined.

Wii- 72 million 3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases
360- 37 million Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak
PS3- 29 million Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut
You know if Nitnedo actually got serious about production they could probably wipe out that difference in 6-8 months, considering Wii already outsells PS3 and 360 at a much lower production on alsmot a weekly basis

Ninty really needs to up production and get rid of their conservative attitude about the mighty Wii
major jump this week. Wii gained 130k plus in NA while only fell about 15 k in Japan and remained stable in Others. PS3 saw a 180k adjustment down in Germany but gained a 100k adjustment in UK. I would assume 360/PS3 sales In NA while drop alot in the next few weeks, while the Wii will be dictated by supply.

Well the Wii is slowly but surely closing in on 50%!
the answer for the PS3 and XBox 360 to compete with the Wii is to drop console prices to match the Wii. If Sony released a house brick and sold it for $100 each it would still sell lol
