It got me to thinking though. What is it really showing?

If you back them out to start at equal launches, you can see that Wii already has them beat combined. 20.6M to 9.3M and 8.4M

They did launch on separate days, but what if we exclude X360's early start?

The week before PS3 started selling, X360 had sold 5.2M. Since that time, X360 has sold 11.5M more for a total of 16.7M. PS3 has sold 9.6M. Together, PS360 have sold, since the PS3 started selling, 21.1M versus the Wii 20.6M.

Since the 5.2M sales of X360 is 'fixed', once the Wii magic number gets down to 5.2M, the Wii will have sold as many as both other systems since all three were on the market.

Maybe no large cake, but a least a nunchuk cupcake?
