Wrong...the ram is 7x more powerful + the Amd graphics cards are much, much better. I don't want to get into this again but look up the Wii U specs and 360, and it basically edges out the 360 in RAM and graphics. Techwise the Wii U isn't next gen, its Nintendo's next gen, so really theres no reason to make excuses for them. People have already checked the specs.

You forget I've had an on-going comparison thread for well over a year now right?

RAM isn't everything sir. Its 5x or at best 6x total difference. Plus WiiU does tech PS360 cannot as well as being more powerful. So yeah... next-gen will be similar to PCs low/mid vs high/max settings, but the games should be there unless they all pull a EA. (who I think will come back in 2014)

Nope.

Wii U has 2 GB of Ram DDR3

PS3 has 8 GB of Ram DDR5

Both relinquish 1GB of ram for other processes. It's 7x.  The graphics card is also a major part and good lord is it more powerful than the Wii U. Theres no way around this. The next gen consoles will run circles around the Wii U.

omg.... ok. Go to my thread. Look at full picture not just 1GB vs 7GB for games.

I am, look at the graphics cards the cores, the works. Its just heads and tails superior. THe Wii U isn't even capable of the launch windows games on he PS4.

Even at your 7x difference, that's still far smaller than the 20x Wii had. Your also ignoring the fact that Wii U has the same technologies for use in visuals.

All you're looking at is a difference that is easily scalable as seen in PC gaming. You're twisted view of them being generational differences is 100% incorrect.

CPUs. powerpc vs jaguar amd. Guess what powerpc per core is superior including have more cache per core. 3 to 8... that at best a 4x difference factoring in the RAM pipeline.

GPUs. All are AMD HD GPGPUs. Same basic technologies. All support effectively DX11 type features. Only difference is raw power. That can loosely be compared via flops. 352 vs 1200 vs 1840. That, including RAM differences is about 6x difference... maybe 7x if you argue the RAM is a bigger impact here.

Again... same basic visual tech, same GPGPU focus, same next-gen capabilities... only difference in raw power that is designed to be handled by next-gen engines. Scaled games will be the only difference.

Hell, why do you think Epic said UE4 could be put on Wii U or even X360? Because these engines are designed to be scaled by large factors. Its just not included in the out of the box setup. Nintendo or 3rd parties pay for it, it would be. But Nintendo put their money in the unity engine and gave that out for free. That was probably a pretty significant sum of money. Granted, I think they should have put it into getting the out of the box support on UE4 as well as it will be big as the gen wears on. Who knows, maybe Nintendo will do it then. For now, everyone is still using UE3 so it doesn't really matter.

Lets agree to disagree. Nothing the Wii U has shown has convinced me of what I saw at the PS4 unveiling. In my opinion UE3 is the best thing for Nintendo because they dont really need UE4 for third party unless that third party deems to be a need. The multiplats would be severely underpowered and squeeze every last bit of juice out of the Wii U before it even hits the ground running. I've played the Wii U and its definitely nothing to brag about, especially now.

I doubt Wii U strongly, but I'm biased against Nintendo. However, if it were to come out for Microsoft's next gen, or the PS4 (on both, or timed exclusive to either), I think it'd push a loooott of hardcore gamers to getting a next gen console (like myself).

All of this, of course, is just my opinion.

Skyrim 100%'d. Dark Souls 100%'d.
Dark Souls > Skyrim.
Halo 4 is the best damn FPS since Halo 3.

They are indeed working on the new Mario vs Donkey Kong.   They also handle a lot of other eShop titles and VC work.  Their last big home console retail title was 1080 Avalanche for GC 10 years ago.   I don't think they're set up now for big titles or even ports of big titles.

I think there was a rumour a few months ago that the creator of Sonic had started in NST. Can't remeber if it was fake though. Either way Nintendo needs a studio other than Retro to make western aiming games, so it's really sad if they don't start making bigger games soon. Although their probably "lost."

Odd rumor given that Yuji Naka created Sonic in 1991 and NST wasn't even established until 1998.  I agree they need another western studio.    Every generation, they seem to partner or buy a new studio (Rare, Factor 5, Silicon Knights, Retro, Monolith).  So hopefully that trend continues and they pick up another real soon.

But even with that in mind, I doubt they'd handle a port of a game like GTAV.  That would either be handled internally at Rockstar or farmed out to a major outsourcing studio.

Pet peeve of mine. Yuji Naka is often credited with creating Sonic the Hedgehog. There were three creators of Sonic. Naka was arguably the least important of the three. He was the lead programmer. Naota Oshima was Sonic's character designer and Hirokazu Yasuhara was the gameplay/level designer. Yasuhara is the one that joined NoA.

That was what I thought I remebered :D As Soundwave said, NST might be up for platformers now, as Donkey Kong is a pretty big franchise, maybe bigger than Zelda (sales wise), and I'm not sure if Retro are going to make Donkey Kong anymore.

wow gta 5 on pc will be glorius HYPED

REQUIESCAT IN PACE

I Hate REMASTERS

I Hate PLAYSTATION PLUS

I hope they do a decent job of porting GTA 5 to the PC, GTAIV was simply crap.
Mind you... GTA IV with the ice enhancer mod looks incredible, just a shame the game even in it's vanilla state ran like crap. :P

Still. If modders do what they did to GTA IV to GTA 5, it will look downright bloody amazing on the PC.

Amazing a Nintendo GTA on a home console and a multi generation GTA! I can't wait! If true i will buy it on PS3 and PS4. I would expect these next gen versions to either come at the respective launches of the new xbox/ ps4 or they will release next year probably, but i can't wait

Sorry.  I thought you were saying the guy that created Sonic "started" at NST before making Sonic.
