They are indeed working on the new Mario vs Donkey Kong. They also handle a lot of other eShop titles and VC work. Their last big home console retail title was 1080 Avalanche for GC 10 years ago. I don't think they're set up now for big titles or even ports of big titles.

I think there was a rumour a few months ago that the creator of Sonic had started in NST. Can't remeber if it was fake though. Either way Nintendo needs a studio other than Retro to make western aiming games, so it's really sad if they don't start making bigger games soon. Although their probably "lost."

Odd rumor given that Yuji Naka created Sonic in 1991 and NST wasn't even established until 1998. I agree they need another western studio. Every generation, they seem to partner or buy a new studio (Rare, Factor 5, Silicon Knights, Retro, Monolith). So hopefully that trend continues and they pick up another real soon.
But even with that in mind, I doubt they'd handle a port of a game like GTAV. That would either be handled internally at Rockstar or farmed out to a major outsourcing studio.

Pet peeve of mine. Yuji Naka is often credited with creating Sonic the Hedgehog. There were three creators of Sonic. Naka was arguably the least important of the three. He was the lead programmer. Naota Oshima was Sonic's character designer and Hirokazu Yasuhara was the gameplay/level designer. Yasuhara is the one that joined NoA.

That was what I thought I remebered :D As Soundwave said, NST might be up for platformers now, as Donkey Kong is a pretty big franchise, maybe bigger than Zelda (sales wise), and I'm not sure if Retro are going to make Donkey Kong anymore.
