Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo CEO Seen Missing Profit Target as Wii U Founders

Iwata seems to have no real control over his own development studios. I know Nintendo likes to make sure their games are polished but s--t Activision gets a very polished CoD game out on time every year, plus Skylanders and a host of others.

Nor is it like Nintendo's reinventing the wheel here. They are basically just going into their catalogue and refreshing. Zelda: WW HD? A new Zelda on 3DS based on A Link to the Past? A upgraded port of DCKR? Nor are these games really taxing of a companies resources like Assassin's Creed of GTA V would be. Most of Nintendo's games are simple affair - and he STILL can't get them out on time. WTF?

I like Iwata, I really do, but I'm really beginning to wonder if he (or perhaps Miyomoto) can actually manage people because there's just no excusing this when it happens consistently.

I still think firing Iwata now is a bit risky. Who will do Nintendo Directs? It just won't be the same.

I mean the man turned the 3DS around. Let's wait another year or so.

I think Reggie would do a good job at the Nintendo Direct since a lot of people already like him

Nintendo needs to stop letting each developer take 5 years to make one title. I figured the drought of games for the last few years of the Wii meant that there would be a very strong lineup on the WiiU but so far there's nothing. It's time to hammer down and get your developers working faster nintendo.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Precisely. I put up with 2011 and 2012's barrenness on the promise of a killer Wii U lineup, and the fact we're still in a draught is unacceptable.

And before someone posts that "delayed game is eventually good, rushed game is bad forever" quote, (which isn't necessarily true, Duke Nukem Forever and Conduit 2 case in point) a great game can still be made in 2 years instead of 5.

Nintendo need to push their teams harder. Work them overtime if necessary.

I wouldn't shed a tear if Iwata left, he's done a miserable job over the last two years.

Wait Iwata is the top top top Nintendo guy? I always thought he was like the right hand man.

I'm not sure how I feel about Iwata. But their is a ton of morons, not only on the internet but among Nintendo's investors who think Mario should be on smartphones and Nintendo should quit the console business.

My fear is that if he leaves, one of these morons will take his place.

We make fun of him. We don't really "Like" him. Iwata's just lovable.

(Though I wouldn't mind it if Miyamoto did them, but he must be too busy working on his new IP.)

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/profile/92109/nintendopie/ Nintendopie  Was obviously right and I was obviously wrong. I will forever be a lesser being than them. (6/16/13)

I think Miyamoto is part of the problem too, he's been given a lot of autonomy to handle EAD entirely as he wants and dictates a lot of Nintendo's overall policies IMO from his position on the board of directors.

The board needs to be shaken up completely. Miyamoto should step back and just work on his own projects and let the rest of Nintendo evolve and adapt into a more modern sensibility. They are being run into the ground by a bunch late 50s/60 year old Japanese men that are far too slow and out of touch.

I can't believe the only who who noticed this obvious spelling error.

Yeah, I admit I hadn't considered that before today. I guess I made the mistake of assuming nobody would be that mind-blowingly stupid.
