coming to think about it i feel that the best way to help solve this problem is to make one of the regular female posters a MOD.

Wow Bannana boy had a good idea :P

I like this idea.

Sign, we need a female mod. A great idea :D

You're right, and moderators should do better, and should be trying to do better...

...but there's always going to be issues on a big forum. I think the best thing is for everyone to have a set of thick skin?

I have a very thick skin as it is. The point is hardly anything is being done period to actually enforce the rules.

Well, I don't think Galaki was trying to be mean or insulting, but his attempt at humor was a bit much. That sort of thing is a joke that you play on a good friend or someone you know well, not a random person on the internet.

This thread is not about Galaki. My point is, these comments go on forever and ever and nothing is done. As others have mentioned, this isn't even just sexism we're talking about.... low quality posts happen all the time to ill effect on discussions and nothing is being done to raise the standard.

Here is an example, let's say I am sick of arguing with someone and I just want to say what I am really feeling and I decide to take a moderation to make my feelings heard... ok... but the post is not removed. How is that moderation or correction to fix the offense?

Give me a break.

People make jokes about men on here constantly. Your on forums on the Internet grow tougher skin

We had a female mod before, trashleg.

I am getting sick of people attacking my race, gender, religion, and love of Xbox Live Gold. Mods, get on that.

Is this just about sex or the other things highlighted too?

Lots of users recently are very inconsiderate of religion.

Where I'm involved, it's about the women, but my criticism itself applies to everything in general as well.

Edit: I don't think it's acceptable to keep derogatory and "moderated" comments up because then it makes moderation more into a form of entertainment.

Moderation means you bring that comment to the proper level. You don't leave it there like a flag to continue to bring all discussion on the site down. There needs to be lines drawn and if the mods can't stand behind the standards they wish to set, then they need to step down and enlist people who are actually willing to support a standard.

I don't mean that as a slap towards any particular moderators. It is just my honest thought.

while i understand your point about moderated posts i do think the mods keep it up for 2 reasons.

1) its no secret that when a lot of users get banned they act like children towards their moderation, start saying the mod is baised and accusing the mod of having a secret agenda, if the mods erase the message then those users will say the mod erased the message so people cant see he banned me inncorrectly. the mods do get a lot of rediclous accusations and negativity on this site, just look at how a lot of users talk  badly about Mr.khan or just go ask smeagNeedsBanning.

2) to show other users what the banned user was moderated for so they wont go and say the same thing.

i would assume its mostly for reason number 1 though. but dont get me wrong, your have a really good point here and it certainly needs to be solved

No offense but, that was a really harmless joke.

i would have to agree with this. Although the joke was uncalled for and not nessisary. I don't think he meant to harm. So the question is, should we grow a thicker skin or have more moderation? I would just like to see everyone get along!

WII U // PC // 3ds XL // VITA

This is the internet, you shouldn't get mad about what other people are saying just report and move on or close the page. People are to sensible and it's making this site dull

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

Ehhh... This site has seen a lot worse than what you posted. Not to mention religion used to get even more negative attention toward it. The only moderator that bans based on religion is AMP316 and that is probably because he is Christian. The site used to block all posts by banned users and the code was changed after a ton of complaints. Plus, ban posts are there to educate users on how not to get banned. It is actually very useful for a newb.

Finally, if you want more females I recommend GAF. I prefer sense of humor, or honesty myself so I do not think anything in moderation should be changed. Those who moderate least moderate the best.
