Forums - Sony - Predict what PS4 SKUs will be

Let's take a guess at what PS4 will include with each SKU.  Will all models have the camera?  How big will HDDs be?  Will there be PS+ or games or download codes for games included in any?  Most important how much will each of these cost?  Guess away!

Personally I think PS4 will be $400 and $450.  The $400 model will just be a controller, camera, and a 500gb console (they said all models will have a large HDD and I don't think they'll go down from PS3 which has a 500gb model).  I think the camera will be bundled to not fragment the userbase and because they seem to be showing it off when they talk about the controller so it seems essential (or like they wouldn't exclude it plus then they have a Kinect competer).

The $450 model will have a 1tb HDD and a download code for Knack.  It will also include 3 months of Plus.  Now I don't think plus will be the same as this gen at the start.  They will give you online play and cross game chat for free, but you need plus to stream or spectate is what I think will happen.  They may keep free trials and cloud saves on it too though the auto updates will be ubiquitous now.  Eventually they'll have the deals too and I think pricing will stay the same on Plus since they allow you to sub as long as you want right now (like I'm subbed till the end of 2014).  The price difference between a 1tb and 500gb HDD on Amazon is only about $20 so I definitely see Sony being able to do big storage the way digital is sure to be even bigger next gen.  I think this bundle could be $500 possibly but then I would probably change Knack to KZ Shadowfall since I don't think $100 extra would be justified without a full $60 game in there.

All SKUS will have one controller and the PSEYE. The cheaper one, $400, will have a 750 GB hard drive. The $450 premium version will have a 1.5 TB hard drive and will include a move controller.

when I see you sig I always read your comments like Bill Gates lol.

OT:  I hadn't thought about Move.  In fact I think you're the first person I've heard mention Move and PS4 in the same train of thought other than MM.  Interesting but I'm not sure if they'll emphasize it like that.  We'll see.

I'm thinking 449 and 499.

I'm hoping for a $399 model with the camera, 1 TB, and PS+ 3 months. And if they have a $499 model, comes with camera, 1 TB, 2 controllers, a game, and PS+ 1 year.

Why would they include PS+? At the very beginning of the generation it will lack the instant game collection as well as a bunch of other features. Similarly to Vita I expect it to be brought over a year or so after launch. Plus most of the people buying a PS4 at $400 in the first year will already be PS+ subscribers.

And guys, look at the past. No one includes software in launch SKUS.
