In a normal statistical sense - margin of statistical error being constant - higher selling games would have a higher number of overtracking/undertracking due to their higher overall numbers, therefore - with the statistical margin of error being constant - higher sales - higher number of sales under/overtracked.

Just so I understand how things work here though-

If a game is on PS3 = UNDERTRACKED, USUALLY MASSIVELY
If a game is on 360 = NOT UNDERTRACKED - POSSIBLY OVERTRACKED

I think that's how it goes - correct me if I'm wrong.

Those two links should answer your questions. VGC seems to undertrack PS3 more than the 360.

Old shipments with wrong numbers PD fixed it to 9,190k.

Anywayt PD shipped 1.7 million units from Dec 2011 to Sep 2012 (nine months)... how much do you think they shipped in holiday season (Oct 2012 to Mar 2013)?

This year GT5 not sold less than 15k per week in VGC and with undertracked numbers this week it reach 9 million (party time).

You do know VGC doesn't include digital sales.

The difference is around (and less than)  300,000 copies - or around 3-4% (well within the statistical margin of error) - is it hard to believe around %3-4 of sales were digital?

It's not really hard to figure out.

This

VGC never claimed to be more than like 10-15% accurate using his methods to extrapolate the data. There was a post ioi post about it a while ago.

Meaning when you sell 10 million copies you have a margin of error of possibly 1.5 million copies.

I wonder why that rule only applies to PS3 games. 360 games for the most part are tracked spot on whereas PS3 games such as GT5 and God of War 3 are around 1-1.5 million less than what they actually sold.
