Well, there's a 2006 model and a 2008 model and the 3DS has a 2010 model of the PICA200, so it's NOT overclocked, it's underclock.

Read the GAF thread. They were talking about the new model.

Doesn't the 2008 model produce 40.7 million polygons at 400 MHz?

I know the 2006 model does 15.3 million polygons at 100 or 200 MHz.

From DMP (PICA200) -

Main features / Specifications

  • Frame buffer: Maximum 4095×4095 pixels
  • Pixel format: RGBA4444, RGB565, RGBA5551, RGBA8888
  • Vertex program (ARB_vertex_program)
  • Render to texture
  • mipmap
  • Bilinear texture filtering
  • Alpha blending
  • Full-scene antialiasing (2×2)
  • Polygon offset
  • 8-bit stencil buffer
  • 24-bit depth buffer
  • Single/Double/Triple buffer
  • Vertex performance: Maximum 15.3M polygons/sec (at 200MHz)
  • Pixel performance: Maximum 800M pixels/sec (at 200MHz)

Yeah, that's the 2006 model specs. Thanks anyways.

This must be the most secret GPU LOL, I mean no one knows the exact GFLOPs nor exact shader cores.

No, it's not. -_-

Those are the PICA200 (2010) specs.

The 2006 specs say 15.3 million & the 2008 specs say 40.7 million polygons @ 400 MHz.

So am I to believe that they downgraded the polygons.

Besides, the 2010 specs have never been shown, but everyone knows that the PICA200 2008 model does 40.7 million triangles at 400 MHz.

Did you play with the 3D ON?

You can go to options and change depth from Normal to Strong & Very Strong.

I personally go to options in Revelations and change Depth to Very Strong and change Aim to Gyro, so I can use my 3DS like a gun in hand at the zombies.

I mean more graphic wise the difference is like PS2 to Wii (I think Vita is a more powerlful than Wii)... the 3D feature of 3DS is really cool.

I laid out the facts for you.

That IS latest model.. the specs are from DMP themselves >_>

I wasn't talking about graphics, but it's nice to hear the difference between the quality of RE & UC with the gap you guys are describing.

Have you seen the 3D effect in Castlevania LoS 3DS Demo? (you can pause the game to go to settings to change brightness to 10, and change diffulculty of the game while on pause)

Both 8th gen handhelds has their CPU clock at more then twice the speed of the Wii CPU, and same goes for GPU comparison (Wii = 243 MHz 1-core, Vita = 266 MHz 4-core, 3DS = 400 MHz 1-core). Plus they both got more modern CPUs & GPUs. So there's at least that.

You can click on the YouTube link in my signature to see how a 1st year 3DS game stacks up against a 5th year Wii game.

Imagine a 5th year 3DS game. And we know Vita has visually better. So there's your proof LOL.

Anyways, yeah I can't get enough of 3D games & 3D movies.

Are there any of the remaining 65 3D Movies of 2013 that you look forward to from May on?

Heres list of 2013 3D Movies in the OP: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=154457

Wait, so a CAPCOM game is the benchmark for graphics on 3DS?

I'm stunned.

Did I do something wrong?

Nah just shocked that a 3rd party has produced better graphics than most of 1st party tendo.

I should wait for Monolith soft.

Well, Nintendo 1st party devs don't tend to push for the title of graphics king, and the Resident Evil devs are very talented. I guess the realistic aesthetics of Revelations also makes it easier to compare to Uncharted.

Are Monolith currently developing a game for 3DS?

(Not sure if you mean Monolith Software as is 1st party Nintendi JRPG dev or Monolith Productions 3rd party western dev.)

Yeah Monolith had this recruitment page posted on their website for a while. Looking for 3D CG designers. The aesthetics match with another picture that was on their recruitment site. (2nd one) The main team is busy working on "X" and they must have a B-team on this one. I would guess not very far into development though as they recently helped develop both Animal Crossing:New leaf and ProjectXZone which were both released late 2012.

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/profile/92109/nintendopie/ Nintendopie  Was obviously right and I was obviously wrong. I will forever be a lesser being than them. (6/16/13)

That's not all that unsual; while most third parties don't invest graphically in Nintendo systems, Shin'en, High Voltage, and Sonic Team made Wii games more visually advanced than most of Nintendo's, for example.

Has anyone played both Nano Assault EX & Stardust Delta Vita?

I played Nano Assault EX because of the addition of 3D, still playing the Story Mode.

Haven't played EX, but the original Nano Assault is still one of the best looking 3DS games.

I've played stardust. Apart from particles it really doesn't push vizuals, even and it's a launch title.

Well i haven't played the original, but i was going to purchase it, but then i heard about EX and got it instead since you don't need the original. Anyways, EX is said to have improve graphics from the original.
