I really don't get idiots like this... You've left Chechnya, you are in America and you're young...You've Made It!

Have a beer, relax and get a non stressful job and bone some chicks in the process.

Oh. You must be some other semi-coherent whose first instinct is to turn every single awful story into a left/right food fight. I'm sure you're not the same dude who has been banned and banned and permbanned repeatedly for his inability to restrain himself from doing this kind of thing. Definitely not! My bad.

Much less seems to be known about the older brother than the younger one. He would have been 16 or so when he landed here and so probably had a much harder time adjusting and a world view that was already mostly formed. Going by his Amazon wishlist and the fact that he actually bothered to try and obscure his identity when they planted the bombs, I'm guessing he was the serious one and just kind of dragged his impressionable younger brother along for the ride.

Yeah that would make sense but still...some people are dense in the head.

I came to North America from Eastern Europe when I was 13 and it took very little time for me to realize that I like eating cerial in the morning, watching hockey on big screen TV's and drinking average tasting beer with cool labels and bottle gimmicks.

It's a wonder you stayed.

Here's something I just came across that indicates that he really never fit in. Sounds like Chechen independence was always a big thing for him. The younger brother seemed pretty well adjusted and to have a lot of friends, but his older brother probably held a lot of sway over him.

ohh noes, hope this won't cause a "we as nation have to fight back" stuff in usa.

Seeing how one is dead it would be best to at least capture the last guy and question before they do anything else.

The problem is he will probably go out with a bang, literally. No answers to be had here, just someone fed up with life.

The news says that they used bombs copied from an Al queda website

That is probably as true as claiming that the person who sent the ricin-poisoned letters a few days ago used the ricin recipe from the FBI website.

They are probably talking about the "Make a Bomb in the Kitchen of your mom" article in Al Quida's "Inspire" online magazine, but I personally find it very unlikely that they built their bombs based on that article:

- the only reason some media seem to see a connection is because that article mentions pressure cookers. But while it's true that the article mentions pressure cookers, it only even mentions them in one short paragraph. The actual, 7-pages, long precise instructions on building a bomb describe building a pipe bomb instead.

- The explosive material used in the bomb recipe in the Inspire article uses matchheads and sugar, while the real bombers probably used commercial blackpowder that they legally bought in gun shops or something

- the Inspire article describes using a normal clock with clock hands as a timed detonator, while it seems to be believed that the Boston bombs used egg timers, which require a different approach to turn them into timed detonators

So why should they build a bomb based on this article if they don't follow the instructions? There are thousands of instructions for building similar bombs freely available on the internet.  The usual suspects, "Anarchist cookbook" and "Terrorist handbook" seem much more likely to me.
