Forums - Gaming - what a magical moment

My magical moment was Contra 4 on SNES. I was like damn! How can graphics get any better than this?

You're spot on! Mine was when I first saw Ocarina of Time... That was a magical moment for me.

Super Mario 64 deserves all the credit it gets. Classic game. One of the pillars of gaming for sure.

i never been a fan of zelda, and my dad bought us a few n64 games at the time. star fox, mario kart, super mario 64 to name a few. and i loved them all to death, still do. though i am planning on playing zelda orciana of time but through emulator

Yup. After growing up with the NES, the day finally arrived when I was at a friend's house and saw him play this game. Followed by a multiplayer session of Mario Kart 64. (Well, to be honest I'm still at a point where 3D gaming kind of seems like something magical that should not be possible.)

Great memories.

Yeah, I remember that moment 3D games were so new back then and Mario 64 just pulled it off with grace. I remember watching the TV commercials and my jaw literally dropped lol. And then when Mario's head appeared saying "hello!" I was like oh my god! But nothing could beat this moment when the game actually started.

What? Zelda: Orciana of time?! What game is that? It is a follow-up from Ocarina of time?! Is it the new WiiU Zelda game?! HOW DO YOU KNOW?!?!

"This magic moment"

This is probably the first post from you that I've enjoyed. LOL at Superman 64! Your dad must have wanted to punish you.
edit- oops I read supermario as superman. The word amazing made me think of Superman...

lol superman 64? what are you talking about?

and you should realize that even though i do critize nintendo often its not because i have this blind hate for them and blind love for sony, its because i was once a HUGE fan of nintendo, yet i feel they abandonded (not literally) me by not offering me software that would appeal to me as i grew up. i still do plan on getting a Wii somehow and playing their games, but its just not a priorety for me. i love games, and who ever makes the games i like i will like as well, it just so happens that its sony at the moment

shit! my sources are going to kill me!

Excellent OP. I also lived that moment, and my family was with me, some of my brothers who had moved on from games altogether were just awe-struck at what mario was able to do (wall-kick, jump, kick, do pirouettes).

The very first time I saw it was at a special Kiosk at the Nintendo Dome at LaRonde in Montreal. Before that my favorite kiosk moment was Super Metroid at Sears just 2 years before that.

Gaming goodness for me, thanks for sharing!

No matter how you play it, it needs to be played! I'm getting it on the 3DS when I get a 3DS :P

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

the game is literally filled with memorable moments at every level, but i agree the moment it actually starts is just something amazing and nothing can beat it!
