Why are you using the word only.

They are available. The end.

There's a reason why color variations generate extra console sales when they release. People want to buy the console in the color they desire. There are people who will not buy it and just wait for stock to come in, rather than buy a model they didn't want. I know I would be one of those people.

And second, stock shortages of any production model shows supply issues. It's a symptom of demand exceeding supply.

Also it appears that from the time I posted those examples earlier, the blue model is also now out of stock at the Sony Store, again.

It's not that easy to ramp up production in the quality you want. But that said - Sony should have expected increasing sales and produced some units in preparation.
