Forums - Nintendo - How I learned to love Nintendo again....

Nintendo are diverse, their games are made to appeal to all ages. They care about the gameplayer, what enjoyment they can get out of the game. All their games are polished within an inch of their life, and in this day of angry online gamers and trolls, Nintendo still push the dying trend of local multiplayer. Playing fun games with a bunch of friends or family beats any experience ive had online.

Nintendo lost me with their lack of Wii suport the last couple years, and the lackluster Wii U so far. Just picked up a 3DS though and I'm sold for the most part, so they're starting to win me back at least on the handheld front. Still no plans to get a Wii U in the forseeable future though.

I still love Nintendo because of games like Galaxy 1,2, Metroid Prime 3, Zelda SS, Mario 3D.... wait I love them for their games and that's all I need to say really

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

Nintendo, ...well, I'll always have a high respect for them. I remember when I got a N64, I wasn't really into M64, actually it was a game I never got, now I regret that. Those were hard times, most of the people I knew got the PS1, because of piracy, it was a massacre, PS1 was the ultimate king, but I would always battle for the big N. Things got worse with the Gamecube, even less people I knew got that one. But Nintendo games is something you can't really ignore, Mario Kart, Super Smash, heck even Mario Party are fundamental for local multiplayer, you know when your friends are actually next to you. And add some 3rd party titles that complemented the experience. Ah the GameCube, the perfect controller.

I almost ignored the Wii, I was almost having no time for VG, and the one that I got I used it for MMOs, and lan parties for strategy games. I end up getting one, and I must say, it's the perfect console. It had enough games for me, actually a bit too many games, and it is a blast for parties.

Don't know if I will get a WiiU, probably will, still not sure. Not because I don't think it's or it will become a good console, but because I don't really have time to appreciate it. Might just get a 3DS.

It's great to own all the consoles, every manufacterer has a few good games, and even if it's just a couple games, you can always get the system at the end of its life for $100 or so. Got my PSP for $90, my Dreamcast (when it was still in production) for $100, and for those who don't own a Wii/360, they sell them for $100/$130 new, and PS3 will come down in price.

Now I plan to get a Saturn because then I will own every Nintendo/Sega/Sony/MS console (except the GameGear/Virtual Boy, but I don't want those bricks), or at least be able to play the games via BC.

And this is awesome because unlike most people here, I will get to enjoy Halo, Zelda, and Gran Turismo, and not have to pick and choose.

@bold. You'd be surprised how many seeming console-A-B-C-only people actually own all consoles and play all the games.

That's true, but most don't own all 3 major brands (MS is often excluded), and there are still quite a bit who only own on brand, or maybe something like PS3/PC.

You can see it in the games collections of people who update theirs. If someone owns games on multiple consoles, it would make sense that they have games on more then 1 console in their collection.

hated that game so boring tt...idk why but something got into my head when i was 14 that i loved nintendo and it took me way to long to figure out that i acutally dislike most of their games lol

I think God of War is boring, what do you think about that?

lol

It took me this long to realize I really liked Nintendo games and didn't like some of the crap games that other people praise till the 7th moon.

Like what?

P.S. I don't understand how so many people like God of War, to me it's an average hack and slash.

But apart from pulling your leg, why did you come into a thread about learning to love Nintendo (thx to Galaxy) just to say that you learned to hate them as you grew older.

Let me ask you a question, do you think your tastes as you grew older became better? But what if they got worse? dun dun dun

The big question.

I wanna answer.

My tastes for sure have changed, I'm less into mindless cash grab games (like Twisted Metals for the PS1, and modern Mario Party/spinoff games), and well I'm a lot more selective on what to buy now.

I think it's good for me though, I know what I like, and even if Wii only has a bit over a dozen games which are my tastes, I know what they are. It's kinda nice having a shelf full of games which accuratly represent my taste in games, and includes big library's (PS2, GBA, 360) and small ones (Sega CD has 1 game ATM, but might grow to 4, Dreamcast, Wii, etc.)

Interesting. So your tastes changed in almost the opposite direction to radiantshadow.

I had a similar experience to OP. N64 was my first console, which I liked, but then Gamecube really got me into gaming. When Wii came around, I was ecstatic. Scooped it up launch day, and then proceeded to play the heck out of it for the next 2 years. The thing is, I don't like the Wii. Not because of it's hardware, but because of the installments of various franchises it received.

I mean, I was a gamecube JUNKIE, i played everything on that system, so when new installments of some of my favorite games came out, and then disappointed, I was disappointed.

Twilight Princess paled in comparison to WW , Super Paper Mario had nothing on thousand year door, Metroid Prime 3 felt dumbed down, brawl was too floaty, etc etc.

I did quite enjoy Galaxy 1, more than Sunshine, and that kept me going on the Wii for a while. Then a huge drought hit, and my Wii got unplugged with a PS3 in it's place. I didn't so much as touch my Wii for a long time. Then I bought punch out on a whim ( loved it) and that rekindled my Nintendo passion. SMG2, and DKCR further intensified the flame.

When it comes down to it, I just prefer Nintendo games.

Oh my god. I just realized what made me a Nintendo loyalist.

Ironically it was Gears of War. Holy crap.

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/profile/92109/nintendopie/ Nintendopie  Was obviously right and I was obviously wrong. I will forever be a lesser being than them. (6/16/13)

always been a nintendo fan. grew up wiht the NES.

but came around to the gamecube era and i just lost intrest, i was big into PC for a while, shooters and more "hardcore games". then 2 years before the wii era to end i got a wii and amazed and loved all these bright colorfull games and characters, such amazing games! wii is one of my favorite nintendo consoles (other then motion control, but the games were fabulush), i guess the gamecube just left a bad taste in my mouth.

so to awnser the question the :

Nintendo games are unique and fun and appeal to lots of diffrent people.
Awesome characters
does not use sex or violence as somthing to sell as "hardcore gaming" to appeal to "hardcore gamers"
not to mention top notch game polish

so pretty much nintendo to me is the most unique player in the video game industry bizness, and thats what i love them for. they have always stuck to their roots wether you see it good or bad to me they are my favorite company of all time. bleh this must sound like such a fanboy rant lol, to make it not so fan boyish i will still get my vita some day soon
