Yes, JVM from gamasutra mentioned it.

It will be sad for Vita because PSP will show bigger numbers but it will be great for PS3.

PSP is still selling in a lot of countries outside the Big economic countires so I am not surprise even if Vita start selling decently worldwide. PSP is still popular in my country due to massive piracy and PSP is really cheap now.

This was in Japan based in a article with no word coming from Sony... just The Guardian assuptiom... so fake.

Last real words about PS2.

"JR: Typically history can help us only so far here. We’re actually still selling PS2s in regions such as the Middle East seven years after we introduced PS3. There are a number of reasons why the transition might be a bit more accelerated this time round, but PS3 is a very important part of our portfolio, certainly in 2013, 2014 and probably beyond that."

Selling PS2s is not the same as producing PS2s.

And, you're wrong, there is a source:

Update: Wiping a tear from its eye, SCE offered us this statement:

Due to PlayStation 2 now being over 12 years old, we have decided to stop future production of the console and focus on our newer and more popular platforms, PS3, PS Move and PS Vita. We are very proud of what we have achieved with PS2. Having sold over 150m units worldwide, PlayStation 2 remains the world's best selling console, but with sales understandably declining, we are shifting our priorities to reflect this.

Might be true for Japan, but no official word on WW shipments/ sales. If PS2 shipments stopped then I guess PS3 shipments are indeed very high.

We should just wait 3 hours. Maybe Sony will say something more about it.

Just to make the things more clear... in 2h30m the material for the presentation (so all the slides) will be released but the conference will happen only 3h after that.

In resume...

Material: 2h30m to go
Conference: 5h30m to go

I put the material time in the countdown because I can extract all the numbers that matters from the material... after than if Sony said anything new in the conference I will update too.

Anyone expect Sony to separate their numbers?

Yes... a guy from Gamasutra said Sony will split the PSP and Vita numbers this time... so I expect the same for PS3 and PS2.

It's possible that sony might announce a number that puts the PS3 ahead of X360 in life to date shipments
