Sounds real good. Hopefully the GPU isnt a POS. If all this is true an the GPU is really close the the PS3 GPU i will buy one! If not... Well then ill see what kind of Multimedia functions it has before I decide to bite!

It will be more like close to PS4 GPU

Confusing, can't wait for may to get some clarity in all this.

Which one will have Kinect 2.0 bundled with it, or will it still be sold separately?
Does Durango do everything the xbox mini provides (apart from playing 360 games), or is it needed too for streaming movies and tv?
Since both will have a hdd, can they be used together or do they stay separated?
Can I plug my hd-dvd drive in one of them?

So many new questions...

Honestly I feel as if those are pretty simple questions.

1. Obviously Kinect 2.0 will be on the durango since the 360 wouldn't be able to handle it. And yes it's extremely likely every durango console will come with a Kinect.

2. The Durango obviously will do everything that the Xbox Mini does except play 360 games (another feature I see happening with putting a Xbox mini and a durango together is I think that would essentially double your storage by double for a reasonable price)

3. Probably together...ish as I said above.

4. This one I'm not sure about. Probably yes to the Xbox mini...but why would you want to when the Durango will most likely have Blu-ray?

So what I gathered from this is there are 2 devices, one that can play 360 games but is an 'online' device (where the online rumours came from) and the full games console. But here are my thoughts, a great idea the first one to compete with Apple TV, but Apple TV doesn't hold any strength here in the UK, it won't be competing with Apple TV it would be competing with Virgin, internet TVs or the Durango and PS3/PS4 for this TV streaming market. It might struggle. And how do you get a 360 game you own on disc to install on it with no disc drive?

Hmm, pie.

Are you guessing ?

I wonder how the new 360 will link to the Durango and what it means for the design of both devices.

Does this mean that the nextbox itself wont have netflix etc capabilities?

No. Both will have Netflix capabilities.

no, it will definitely be more close to ps4-gpu than to ps3-gpu.

4. This one I'm not sure about. Probably yes to the Xbox mini...but why would you want to when the Durango will most likely have Blu-ray?

1. I figured MS wants to set the xbox apart by it's useability with Kinect to control tv apps. So it would make sense if the xbox mini came with Kinect. Maybe there will be 2 sku's.

2. Seems logical, but that means it's quite a lot just to be able to play a few 360 retail discs. I move my consoles around a lot, it's easier to have 1 device that does all. Hopefully this doesn't mean that the normal full 360 doesn't get discontinued. I'll stick to full 360 for bc if that's the only value it adds to Durango.

3. Combining storage space would be a good reason to get an xbox mini, depends ofcourse on the hdd size if it's worthwhile.

4. Well I still have a bunch of HD-DVDs. It would be nice if I can view them on Durango, as before just easier to move the drive between rooms instead of the whole system.

Another good reason for the xbox mini is a cheap media extender. If you can put it in the bedroom and access all the same movie/tv content (stored) on the Durango it sounds like a win to me. That should be possible if both have 5ghz wireless N.

I'm on the fence. A split console can offer some really cool benefits, on the other hand 2 consoles stacked on top of eachother is ugly. Hate that external HD-DVD add-on. And please don't both come with an external power brick as well.

Everything I said was listed as 2012, not 2013. I understand things change, but not like this. Before the leak everything listed is correct but after it everything is wrong. That doesn't make any sense! Do you have any evidence to support that it's real?

If I'm to follow your example, I don't need any evidence. I can simply say, "It's real."

EDIT: But just to tickle your fancy, here are the things from that document for 2012 that happened:

  • World Class TV and Web Entertainment on 360
  • Control TV experiences via touch, gesture, voice
  • Broad entertainment portfolio
  • Syncronized experiences accross PC, tv, phone
The other things, like new haptic controller (not even sure what that might be?), and new Live tiers/personlization services probably just got bumped back because they felt it went much more in line with a new console launch rather than 8 years into their old console. Doesn't that make more sense to you as well? Perhaps at the time this document was created, MS was toying with the idea of a 2012 release of new hardware instead of 2013. Who knows.
All I know is your statement that "nothing from 2012 was true" is obviously false. And all these recent rumors are referencing more things on the 2012/2013 years of that document which adds more credence to it.

How is this any good news. It's more bad news. The only good thing is if the new xbox can play used games.

lol... how on Earth are any of these rumors bad news? Can't wait to read your spin on that.

The only negative I see is you might have to buy an add-on to have 360 BC but that's better than none at all and is entirely optional.

For the every day gamer who just wants to buy a next gen console and play next gen games, this is amazing, game changing news compared to what we had before.

You have to pay for an add on to play 360 games. It's nice the option is available but how is that good news? It should be built into the console. The biggest thing is this won't even play xbox discs so all your disc games will be useless.

So then keep your 360. PS4 isn't BC. PS3 isn't either. At least there is an option here.
