They have been doing so since 2005-Present.
That is also a laughable deflection that has nothing to do with the topic.....console architecture. Good to see Sony finally copying MS where it counts: developer friendly hardware.

Thats weird, I look at sales figures and see Sony outseelling MS every year... Sony has sold faster then MS in the same time on the marklet and MS will end up last again this gen, no amount of spin will change that. Your post was only an attempt to make MS look good as usual.

Thats weird, I thought the giant ass bar graph on the vgchartz home page would set you straight, showing lifetime sales and all. But I guess people like you miss that :P
Again a pointless derail. Console architecture. Developers making games using familiar hardware. Programming tools. Get it??????
I am saying Sony is finally doing with PS what MS has done with Xbox since 2001. Im sorry if this offends you that Sony is only caring now about console architecture, but it is what it is.
Just freaking stop. You people and your sales derail is annoying as hell. The consoles are both undertracked by a lot and the gap is probably at a million and could be even less.

You do know this stemmed from when superchunk said that it was the first Playstation to use a PC architecture. He didn't say anything about the xbox not having pc architecture from the first xbox. And he certainly wasn't taking a stab at xbox.

Thats funny I see that bar shrink every week and despite 1.5 years launching earlier in europe and 1 elsewhere, PS3 will pass MS soon. Time on the market is a lot lower for sony and inm the same numwer of days on the market PS3 has sold faster it's not rocket science. What is your spin going to be when ms is in third? Which is going to happen?
Sony is doing a lot more then MS, Xbox is a pin to deal with for indies, live is difficult, Sony is opening up PSn and giing devs more freedom then MS ever has, multiple devs have stated as much recently. Conveniently forgot that did you?
MS and xbox was not even in this thread, leave it to you to inject them into yet another sony thread.

After Time Warner bought it from Bushnell, and then ran it into the ground, it got sold off to Jack Tramiel, who then nickle and dimed it also, and turned it into a maker of hard drives I believe, before vanishing. Atari videogame division stuff along the way got sold off to Midway, who then eventually was bought up again by Tramiel. The other part I believe was bought up by either Titus or Infogrames, who then changed their name to Atari. The Atari you are thinking of is eons removed from Bushnell. Bushnell does still remain a visionary, but is out of the loop with the home console market. |
wow I actually learned that today on Memebase...so thanks
Microsoft is going to beat Sony in the next console generation due to something that has been true for the last couple of consoles.
Why didn't this, if it's so critical, mean that the Xbox beat the PS2?
We haven't seen the Nextbox yet, but if Microsoft plays competitively, I think it's possible.
Think about it, America is Xbox land. So the biggest territory is already theirs, by a pretty good margin. I think that if Microsoft plays hard ball, they could win America by an even bigger margin. Then there is Europe, where Sony has the edge, but I that could be a wash this gen if Microsoft gets the right games. Then Japan is obviously Sony's turf, but really by this logic it will come down to Japan vs America. I think it could be an Xbox victory based on the rising value of the Xbox brand.

Just because MS has America now doesn't mean they will have it in the upcoming gen. Just like how Sony isn't guaranteed to have Europe and a good margin of japan. It's a new slate for both of them. It's anyones game it seems like, at least to me. Sony is really trying hard this new gen to be back on top and MS will no doubt come out in full force too.
