Forums - Sony - How Sony can Sell EVEN MORE! PSVita's[Top Five]

All that's needed is a price cut on the system and memory cards, as well as real good exclusives.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Around the Network

throw some hd remakes on it, i would love to be mobile with jak and daxter and ratchet and clank.

Also memory cards must come down, i havent bought anything digital and refuse to until it gets reasonable.

I just wanted to share my thoughts on how Sony for sure could sell even more PlayStation Vita's, so here is my TOP Five -Ways to see the PSVita-
1. Price cuts: the proof is there Japan cut the price and sells rocketed that's only in Japan making both ver. $199 world wide it would sell big time and also lower that 32g memory card from $99 - $49 hey it would help even some bundles would do the trick.
2. Overseas Games: games like Tales Of Hearts R/innocence R, One Piece Pirate Warriors 2, Phantasy Star Online II, Ys foliage ocean in celceta, Demon Gaze, Seimado Monogatari, Valhalla Nights 3, Hatsune Miku Project DIVA f etc, the list go on there is so many game that would be awesome to have here in the US. Because right now we do not have that many games to look forward to like maybe 3-5 if that also more limited editions! more games = sales
3. Less Digital: let's be real the memory cards are high as hell right? So they really need to take it easy on them digital only titles there has been Games I counted the days for just to find out its DL only,  like new little kings story and just came out Atelier Totori (ugh.. I wanted them games...)  I can't speak for everyone but I have a 32gb memory card and I love Hard Copies so the only digital stuff I want on my PSVita Memory card is PSP, PSMini, PS, Msuic, Anime, Photos, Apps (like YouTube and Netflex etc), and PSVita games I get from  PSPlus but that aside I wanna walk into my GameStop or Bestbuy and see  crap load of games for PSVita people wanna see all them games on the wall it's bad enough I got to worry if that game is gonna come to the US yet alone If its gonna be Digital only
4. Colors & accessories: there just isn't any wow factors to the PSVita when it comes to Accessries and add on's need more a lot of cases, wrist traps, skins, pens, etc. No one wanna have the same looking PSVita idk why ya just don't you want yours to stand out i guess? Plus colors are just cool and add son fresh decals. (my PS Vita is White with A skin on the front and back with a wallpaper to match of Black Rock Shooter) there was Colors when the PSVita was first Annouced remember? there was a Video and was displayed at some place in Japan that showed every color of the rainbow that would of been AWESOME on day one/future,  I think people would buy them just on colors alone hell I know a few people who sold there PSVitas JUST to get another color COLORS SALES! Idk why that didn't happen (although they so have like 4? I think.. In Japan) we need more then just Black & White -_-
5. Advertisements: it's Sales 101 although They have Tons of PSVita Trailers on YouTube and On PlayStation site they need to be on TV I don't think they understand not everyone get online it TV every game trailer that's online needs to be on TV I swear I only seen like 3 PSVita advertisements on TV ever one was for baseball another hmm.. Ah, Resistance burning skies and maybe one saying play anywhere and that was it! "if you show it they will buy it" (can't really speak for anyone outside the US)
so yeah that's about it but what do you think? Is there anyways I haven't list that can help the PSVita Sell? Lets face it if you touch it you'll love it~
(First Topic)

1: It wasn't just a price cut, it also got many new games. Alo, you can't just cut the price of a system, there are reasons that Sony haven't done it yet.

2: Many of those titles won't do uch in the west, just a little bit.

3: You have to realise that it costs a lot more money to release a game in retail stores, and if it flops there, it is much worse than an online game only. Not to mention the fact that they might not get storespace.

4: I ain't buying consoles for accessories, and I've never heard about anyone doing it.

5: Agree

Most of all make new games. A price cut too would be great though.

why do you disagree with point 5?? the advertising has been terrible, and is probably one of the main reasons for the slow sales in the U.S

Advertisement doesnt do miracles. The problem the vita has is in the marketing of the product and the target audience. The times have changed and the target audience for portables has moved to phones in a good part and the Vita is a device that is too powerful and therefore too expensive for the remaining public, wich you can look at as the hardcores. The Vita lost everyone but the hardcores wich is why its selling bad. Sony needs to press on that public and get more hardcore into the system, and not casuals. Advertisement (in mass media) is for the casuals. It wont work for the most part. The hardcore keep themselves informed.

What they need to do is continue to focus on bringing quality software in bigger numbers and drop the price. Especially they need to help japanese developers bring the games they make over, because western ones just dont care about the portable market anymore.

The only kind of advertisment it would make sense to do on the Vita at this point, is in specialty outlets, like say this website or say IGN or GT or gametrailers, etc. Get a big add on the background and give them visibility with the hardcore. Its useless and a waste of money to go make TV adds at this point.

Also, in europe the Vita had huge advertisement as part of Sony's champions league sponsoring. It hardly made any difference, wich is why they pulled out of it after several years (and probably due to money constraints aswell).

Good points :)

A price cut would certainly boost sales, but what the Vita really needs is a "killer app." I'm not saying it has no games -- Gravity Rush and Wipeout 2048 are outstanding -- but it needs one of those must-have titles. Something like Grand Theft Auto or Super Mario.

As far as localizing games from Japan....I would love that. I'm itching to play Phantasy Star Online, for example. But I'm not sure how many fans are interested in those titles.

Different models and colors would be a nice feature too. Nintendo already convinced me to buy two 3DS models -- the limited edition Zelda 3DS and the limited edition Pikachu 3DS XL -- so I'm sure Sony could do the same.

Overall, I think the three most important things are 1) hardware price cut, 2) keep pumping out interesting, exclusive software -- ports and remakes aren't going to cut it -- and 3) drop the price on those memory cards, which are a huge insult to consumers.
