Would it be ok to jump into this series with this game? Never to have played any of the previous titles?

With the Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem coming to Wii U and all, I kinda want to get familiar with the franchise so I'm not totally lost.

Bah really debating this one.

I don't particularly like 1st-person Jrpgs but I like the character design and what I've seen of the world. Wish they'd put a demo up so I could take a look at the combat.
