This would be funnier if it was actually what he was saying. It's still funny, but when I was watching it I noticed that the words he was saying didn't really match up with the translation.

Someone give this guy two medals!

Wow this is the best April fools prank haha

One thing you could have used to tell for sure is that this "new Wii U" was being called the "Super Wii U."  No where in what he was saying could you hear him say "super" (and yes, they would have said it in English.)  

Also he starts with "konban wa" which is good evening.  And when the video says that the Wii U sales were struggling, I did not really hear any word I recognized that would have indicated that.  Also he started with "kyou wa" (which means "Today).

When the subtitles say they were going to fix the problem, he was just transitioning.  Someone in basic Japanese would have been able to tell that by the fact that he used "doozo yoroshiku."  

Also when the subtitles say "600% more than the Wii U," you don't even need to know Japanese to hear that he said "soft" (as in software.)  Very suspicioso.

Well..... after reading some of the responses on this thread today, and with the great video.....I have to say......

...Something seems a bit fishy.
