Every Sony fan said that God of War is doing better then Gears lol. Both games did well for them being prequels and at the end of a console lifecycle.

Pretty much.  I find it hilarious that GoW numbers are actually lower in the first week but somehow people twist things around for GoW.  Sony loaylists.  I realyl dont understand you guys sometimes.

Both was prequels, both did good.  Gears had the better 1st week regardless if it isnt going to be as big as Gears 3.  news flash.  Ascension wont be as big as GoWIII

This is why most of your threads become flame war. You can't make a thread and attack a whole group of people just a few post later when you don't like the reactions. I have always questioned your intentions when I see a thread from you, stop making it so obvious.

My intentions are clear.  Gears vs God of War, updates throughout the year.  No more, no less.  If people cant talk maturely that is not my fault.

The Gears games have sold better but Gears 3 was bundled.

I think Gears Judgement will be more profitable in the long run when you consider all the DLC skins and the season pass. I'm still not sure about overall sales for the game though. Word of mouth is pretty bad because of the multiplayer balance, no horde mode and lack of maps.

It's just that simple.

Gears 3 was not bundled.  It had a gears $400 limited edition bundle that was specifically made for gears fans. That is a difference

I got one at Best Buy for $250 awhile back. They were cheaper then the normal Elites so I said "Why not?". A console coming with a game is still a bundle, limited or not. There were at least a good million or so units in the US alone, so that obviously had impact on sales.

Well, it still was bundled, just not extensively. It mirror's Ascension's package. Not enough to be used as ammo in a debate, though. :)

I really hate all these bundle conversations. Ive said it so many times before but all three sony, nintendo, and MSFT does pretty heavy bundling.  However a limited edition bundle are for people who are going to buy the game anyways was my point.  Those are for the hardest of core fans.

It's just as relevant as you bringing it up that People Can Fly developed it (i.e. moot point(s). Most buyers probably don't know that. Even Ascension had a change of folks from who God of War III had (different Directors, as the stand-out). What is apparent, however, is that this was a very low-key release in the Gears series and Ascension saw much more marketing.

Now as for 'disappointments', neither did exceptional and I see free passes being given in both directions, which is silly. But, one thing's for sure, Gears dropped, iteration-to-iteration, much more sharply (which makes sense, given it usually outsells God of War in the States by a comfortable margin).

More reaching. No, Epic having a say in the MP of the game does not change the fact that the game was developed by an entirely separate team than the ones who do Gears of War. This is a huge thing for many fans and affects sales. The same thing exists with Call of Duty. Each line in the franchise still sells a **** ton, but there is a large contingent of IW fans who refuse to buy a Treyarch title, and there is a large contingent of Treyarch guys who don't buy the IW titles. Also, why would most people not know People Can Fly are the ones who made it? A big deal was made about that fact. It's in every preview, review, and special about the game. Their names are on the box. Please.

lol @ comparing it to a change of directors. Don't fall while you grasp for those straws.

I must have missed the part where I gave some brand a free pass here. Your delusions are cute though, per usual.

Denial is usually the first indication that you have a problem. ;)

Idk, I guess I will have to bow to your expertise on denial and problems. Since you can't tell me exactly where I am giving this supposed free pass, I'll bow out of this petty back and forth you've instigated as well.

Ladies, ladies, handbags down.

You're a smart enough guy (I'm well aware of this, despite my clashes with you), but at this point,  my opinion of your preference means nothing. More importantly, and something I'm sure we can both agree on, these games haven't lit the charts on fire, which looks bad for each of them, and with Ascension's marketing, it's even more alarming.

They aren't exactly comparable when you consider Judgement doesn't have the franchise hero and isn't part of the main series story in a meaningful way really.  Its very similar to ODST in comparison to Halo 3/4 for Judgement.  Marketing for Judgement was woeful, makes you wonder if Epic have done something to warrant Microsoft not pushing their title.  I doubt either will affect future games though to be honest.
