| CGI-Quality said: It's just as relevant as you bringing it up that People Can Fly developed it (i.e. moot point(s). Most buyers probably don't know that. Even Ascension had a change of folks from who God of War III had (different Directors, as the stand-out). What is apparent, however, is that this was a very low-key release in the Gears series and Ascension saw much more marketing. Now as for 'disappointments', neither did exceptional and I see free passes being given in both directions, which is silly. But, one thing's for sure, Gears dropped, iteration-to-iteration, much more sharply (which makes sense, given it usually outsells God of War in the States by a comfortable margin). |
More reaching. No, Epic having a say in the MP of the game does not change the fact that the game was developed by an entirely separate team than the ones who do Gears of War. This is a huge thing for many fans and affects sales. The same thing exists with Call of Duty. Each line in the franchise still sells a **** ton, but there is a large contingent of IW fans who refuse to buy a Treyarch title, and there is a large contingent of Treyarch guys who don't buy the IW titles. Also, why would most people not know People Can Fly are the ones who made it? A big deal was made about that fact. It's in every preview, review, and special about the game. Their names are on the box. Please.
lol @ comparing it to a change of directors. Don't fall while you grasp for those straws.
