Forums - Nintendo - I owned my first GameCube for a month, then I had to grow up

The Gamepube rocked! I loved it! Enjoyed it more than the PS2 in some sense. There were a plethora of memorable exclusives that still resonate with me today. I couldn't care less about the 'kiddie image'. I overlooked that and enjoyed the system for what it provided - great games. The Wii on the other hand ... big fucking meh!

lol. I would have chosen the GC over the car. It was an amazing system. So many good memories. At least you got to play the best GC games thru your Wii.

In my opinion the N64 was not just the best console of the 5th gen but, to this day the best console ever created!

you made it sound like you didn't have a life while being into games back then

I guess i really am different because i was somehow able to have a life even then but still found time to play games

Honestly I can't say that I'm happy for you. I still have my gamecube (and I'm never going to sell it). To me growing up is just society's way of telling you to give up what you enjoy (not so much telling you how to live) just because your getting older; society can go eat a crow.

Saying you had to grow up because you played gamecube is just nonsense (IMO). But if that's how you felt I can't argue with that. Esp. when you were strapped for cash. Plus I don't think all my games are enough to fix my car since it was totaled :P

I would go so far as to say that I probably play my GameCube more now than I did from 2004-2006...
I got it at launch and fell in love with certain exclusives, but was also disappointed with some other major exclusives...
I still consider Eternal Darkness, Metroid Prime, and F-Zero GX to be some of my favorite games...
Only got to play both Pikmin games and Thousand Year Door very recently, and fell in love with them as well...
If the Wii U can deliver in the same way that the GameCube did, I will be a happy camper...

Have a nice day...

The title strikes me as a parody of that one thread by that one guy claiming that he owned the PS3 for like three seconds.
...Then I read the OP... what a horribly dark story. I'm sorry that you had to get rid of that purple lunchbox called the GameCube.

The GC is my most beloved console, for its HQ exclusives, but only after the almighty N64 which is the best console of all time.

What the hell? What is happening to the world? Why should we care if you love or hate GC? Consult a doctor.

I feel the exact opposite when it comes to the GC; it's the first console I ever bought with my hard-earned money from my first job, so I relate it to my young adulthood and hold fond memories of it!

The game that you have as your avatar is one of my most beloved games of all time. I rented it six times before I finely got the bright idea to quit wasting my money and buy the damn thing, and every once in a while I plug up the N64 just to go to the sound test and listen to the awesome soundtrack. The song that plays when Deneb is first giving you the tutorial always warms my heart. :p
