Epic said they expect this from the PS4 even though its running on PC with time.

PS...I will change it.

To be exact he said "Well, let's put it this way. Last year we saw the Elemental demo running on the same piece of hardware and this year we saw the Elemental running on PS4, so I'd say draw your own conclusions... The feeling around Epic on Infiltrator is that this is the pipeline, this is the way we're going to work, making games that are going to have this kind of feel to them, this much detail, this many shadows and it'll just get better and better as we optimise the engine further and further."

Now the Elemental demo on PS4 has a lot of cutbacks from the original demo. Including replacing the increadibly impressive SVOGI with prebaked lightmaps, removed some reflective meterials like the metal gates, lower quality AA, lower quality AO, reduced particle density, lower quality DoF etc. And that is with an extra 6-8 months of engine optimisation. So it's not exactly what they expect from the PS4.

Infiltrator is a demo created to show what graphics Epic expect to games on PS4.

And that's why it ran on a gtx 680 with 16 gb ddr3-ram and Core i7? :)

No, Epic did the demo to show what their engine is capable of, nothing more and nothing less.

They may have had time to optimise their engine, but nothing tells us they had much time to optimise using it on PS4...

Looks the goods.

You sure this is running on PS4?

It is not. It's running on a GPU two-three times as powerful as the GPU in PS4. But later in the gen we will see PS4 games look as good because optimization.

You've probably been replied to already, but have another.

No real time demo for PS3 before release ever looked nearly as good as Uncharted 3, or GOWA, or a whole bunch of other games. Games that look that good take time, so to produce results representative of what the best games on the platform will look like before the platform has even released you need beast hardware.

Not that I agree with ethomaz unless Epic themselves said that.

No it was just you ;_

But it was kind of a rhetorical question anyway (:

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

In my opinion the real question is: how much graphical power can developers squeeze out of a console with a specialized APU architecture dedicated for gaming. I am of course assuming that the hardware is highly proficient at its specialization, and there are no unforeseen bottlenecks within its own design. Anyway, What is the multiplier effect; in other words, how much more can it do than the sum of it's own parts? Will it be a small multiplier? Will there be non at all, or will it be large enough that might change the way PC gaming rigs are built?
