Forums - Sony - New Unreal 4 real time trailer called infiltrator running on the PC (expected graphics for PS4 from Epic! )

I think this is a PC demo not PS4.

Epic said its what is expected of the PS4 once its scaled down for consoles. The GT trailer was misleading but this is what is expected of it.

perhpas i am still tired but i can't see it's running on ps4... this is the same trailer which was already posted before.

Gametrailers and some other sites said its running on the unreal engine 4. I can see why Epic left Nintendo out of the picture. This type of stuff isnt even in the cards for them.

So thread-title is misleading.  This trailer is not running on ps4.

My mistake. It said something different but Epic said it should run on the PS4 once its scaled down from the PC version.

One thing I'd like though... With engine that good and the hardware finally catching up to their capabilities... My wish to see games like Final Fantasy going back to real-time in-engine cut-scenes, flowing seamlessly between gameplay and cut-scenes might actually have a chance to happen.

I liked how creative the teams had to be back then, working only with sprites... The result was more consistent throughout the games. Even if the CG cut-scenes are impressive, I always felt they disrupted the flow of the games.

What more, I'm much more impressed when the developers try to achieve greatness and epicness while using as much of the hardware's horsepower as they can, coming up with clever visual tricks to make it all happen...

Games like MGS3 comes to mind. I'd say MGS4 too, but there were way too many cut-scenes in there that were pre-rendered...

Also, change the thread title already... It's just false.

Epic said they expect this from the PS4 even though its running on PC with time.

PS...I will change it.

Real time. We're veering into a generation that will resemble CG of old quite a bit in game.

This is really impressive if running in real time. But like Hynad said, it doesn't say it is running in PS4. This looks flawless. Probably is PC though.

Its not running on PS4 [..]. Infiltrator is what Epic expects to get out of the PS4.

At bold: Then edit the thread-title, it is still wrong.

And where do you know what Epic expects to get out of ps4? Astrology? Unreal engines were always available on many platforms. Look, UE3 runs on my Nexus 7 (citadel demo) but I will never expect a game like Gears to run on it.

Changed it. Epic has seen the PS4 hardware no doubt they got a dev kit. The old 'Elemental' real time trailer is running on the PS4 hardware (They showed it on the PC first). They said they expect what you see on the infiltrator trailor from the PS4.

But the Zelda tech demo does?

lol

@OP

It will no doubt take a bit of time to optimise the engine for the PS4. But if they can get that engine to run close to that on the PS4 with a steady frame rate then I will be happy

Oh yeah. I'm sure the PS4 can run the demo just like I expect the Nextbox to run it as well as any other UE4 stuff. But I saw the demo a day ago running on a high end PC and this is the exact same demo without any PS4 logo or anything.

Anyway, it looks like you clearified the title so the confusion will end.

Yeah, sorry about that. It wasnt written well on Gametrailers when I clicked on the link.

No worries.

Anyway. UE4 is amazing and if this is the kind of stuff we can expect out of a multiplatform engine at the begining of the generation I can't wait to see what exclusives will look like near the end of the generation. Halo 5 and 6 will surely blow my mind.

God of War and Uncharted next gen. Halo 4 was quite pretty. KZ4 already looks like a dream, I hope the gameplay and maps get a boost to up the multiplayer. The PS4 is already being optimized for high quality multiplayer potential.

The next Batman Arkham game will be using Unreal for sure, so I can't wait to see that. GTA is going to be bloody beautiful!!
