Forums - General - If Dinosaurs had invented Fire first, would they rule the earth right now and humans be their version of the Galapagos Island Iguana and the Crocodile? Only post if you are high this weekend!

My mind cannot comprehend the epitome that is excerpted from the essence of this question.

It's not about inventing fire first.

It's actually about the fingers. If the Dinosaurs had had a thumb, things would have gone very different!

we would already have no oil anymore and also no rare earth elements because they would need much bigger cars and smartphones

He just ate the last tree on the planet he was on. What a fucking fool! He will starve! Thank god dinosaurs were pussies and did not have thumbs or that would be us on this planet.

Don't you worry, Captain Kirk will finish him off!

Almost this.

In order to be "rulers" they would have required a way to do fine movement.  Pincer grasp for example.   Dinousaurs did not had way to do fine movement at all.

if there is one person on this site i'd like to meet IRL it is you spurge.

I think a better question is this:

What if there was no mass extinction that killed the dinosaurs?

It's possible that an intelligent dinosaur would have developed tens of millions of years before mammals had a chance to evolve. If that was the case dinosaurs I think it's very likely that dinosaurs would have evolved into humanoids with advanced intelligence and eventually create civilization. Could they have maintained their civilization for millions of years to still be around today? I don't know. In tens of millions of years humans will either have destroyed themselves or left earth for other planets. Maybe dinosaurs didn't go extinct. Maybe the left Earth millions of years ago.

BTW: Doctor Who starts up again today on BBC America!

If I was a caveman and a Dinosaur was waving fire at me I would just give up. You Win! I will go back to my cave and live off cave fish and bats! You do not have fine motor skills? Who cares! You have fine, sharp teeth and the power of the sun in your hands.

Without fine movement, dinosaurs would not even be able to create fire to begin with. ;)

Dude what the...?

I thought she died in the episode where Amy found out River was her daughter?

I just pulled up that picture because the topic reminded me of Doctor Who. I'm not 100% sure which character this is. There is a lizard woman who lives in Victorian England. She has a human girlfriend and helped the Doctor and his new companion fight off the evil snow men in the Christmas special.
