Ubisoft: Gamers want Assassin's Creed every year

Montreal boss Yannis Mallat says as long as quality remains, gamers will come back every year for more.

Ubisoft Montreal boss Yannis Mallat does not think gamers are turned off by the idea of a new Assassin's Creed game every year.

"No," Yannis Mallat told Eurogamer this week. "The players will tell us. Right now there are more and more coming into the franchise, so I don't see that day."

Mallat explained that as long as each new entry is a quality product, gamers will continue to come back every year for more.

"It's our breakthrough. When you have quality content, the frequency of coming out with the game is not an issue at all. On the contrary, people expect more and more of that content," Mallat added. "So it's natural to be able to provide that content. The gamers are happy and it's our job to make them happy."

Ubisoft has released a new core Assassin's Creed game every year since 2009. Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag launches October 29 and afollow-up is already in the works.

too bad Assassins Creed 3 wasn't quality, what a boring shit game

I would have them take a break and focus on other games like.... A DAMN PRINCE OF PERSIA SEQUEL WITH PRINCE AND ELIKA!!!!

but I will admit I;m looking forward to AC IV, specailly after the ending for AC III

I'd prefer every other year so they could create other great IPs. My fear is companies will go to annual approaches for big titles and then we'll see a lack of new content.

It's true if it keeps selling more and more why stop. I personally am bored of Assassins Creed and I haven't bought the latest one.

I would prefer every two years. Not because I don't love AC, but because it's going to take a dive in quality soon. All of them were great with the exception of revelations. I would say it was good, but a steaming pile when compared with the other ones.

Yeah, 7 studios working on each AC game does sound like it will eat resources. Especially as their other games come from Tom Clancy

But to their credit, they are working on Watch Dogs as a new IP... but I guess that is it

They have just released FC 3 which was a very good game and they do have South Park coming out at some point, but Ubi seem overly reliant on AC

Not sure why gaming websites pose such silly questions. If it makes money, they'll make it.

End of story, what has what gamers want got to do with anything. That part stopped being relevant with the release of Call of Duty 10 years ago.

It's a bit ironic when it's a question posed for gamers, when the "gamers" are the real problem.

Stop playing stupid games and stupid games will stop being played.

Duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Get to work on the next AC Vita slaves! >:D

I don't mind yearly installments as long as it's good. I don't think AC3 had less quality, I disliked Conner though, so I'm happy they are getting a new protagonist...4 looks great, but we'll see...

lol call them idiots !!! if they have the sheep buying every year why not?

Why are people that buy and enjoy Assassin's Creed sheep? Unless that was a joke that I didn't get.
