What? WiiU had minimal hype outside of the internet communities. Most people I knew who saw the WiiU thought it was lame.

All you are doing is further proving my point
"Microsoft has always been very developer centric with all of their platforms and that Sony is embracing that approach is wonderful."
That's the whole point of the story. MS has always delivered good tools for development and always made developing games easy for devs. Sony does it nextgen also and everybody thinks "wow, Sony is so smart to do so!" but actually they are just keeping up with what MS always did. All this talk from devs that talking to MS is awful and Sony is so nice to devs seems like bought comments. I don't know the truth, of course, it's just an assumption.

Makes me think the that M$ under estimated Sony and made the 720 to weak so now they are changing it cause they knew it would get stomped. :/

or they put more effort into ps4 version...
ubisoft didnt show up at microsoft conference last year neither discuss anything xbox at theirs if i recall. and if x version is getting exclusive content which version would "be better"
thats like saying destiny will be better on ps4 when it might not be. but bungie could have said it

You really think that MS knew about PS4-hardware just when it was presented publicly? There were even rumors about the hardware publicly available *for everyone* on the internet but MS was surprised? Really? Oh wait, yes, Sony decided to go with 8 gb ram... Which was rumored for 720 before - so Sony decided to offer as much ram as MS, not the other way round. But keep your opinion ;)

We've heard the rumors of what Microsoft is doing this coming gen. Heavy casual push and kinect with every purchase. Seems like they are trying to duplicate the Wii success. With the Wii U not selling as expected, I wonder if Microsoft is rethinking their plans.
And it looks as though the PS4 will be far more powerful than the NextBox... not a little but a lot. Makes sense though if you think about it. Microsoft has to price the NextBox at or lower than the PS4. They can't match the PS4 spec wise, plus add kinect with every console and hope to price it on par with Sony's console. Not without losing a butt ton of money. Guess they could sell it at $300 with 2 year contract :(
I am sure Halo and COD fans will still buy it. But if Sony offers the PS4 at/around the same price... ouch

The nextbox was rumored to have 8gb's of GDDR3 whilst the PS4 contains 8gb's of GDDR5, quite the monumental difference, sir.

Wrong, it's just DDR3, not GDDR3. And yes, it is a difference but how it will turn out in the whole system will be seen. It's not as easy as just compare every single component and say "Winner!".
