And Greece doesn't have a racism problem, it's more of an immigration problem.
In no way do I, or many people I know, support Golden Dawn and their nazi politican views. They just beat up and kill immigrants. The only reason they exist is because stupid 18 years olds and old people voted them.
Many people don't like the immigrants because they're illegal there, take all the jobs (Gas stations and supermarkets).

The right wingers explictly said if someone sees a dark skinned person walking in the streets to call them and they will solve the "problem". The right wingers are the mirror of Greek frustration and they are omnipresnt in today's Greek society. An olympic athlete was banned for life from the Olympics because she had a very insulting remark towards Africans.

Considering the whole "Respect" campaign by FIFA, this guy can't be surprised and should be banned for life by FIFA, not just the Greek federation. Even more if you consider that nowadays in Europe football is the substitute of war...

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

I saw that about the female athlete, to be honest, that was a stupid and hurtful joke that she made on twitter.

If I remember, the joke went like this (Not exact translation from Greek)

"With so many black people at the Neil river, the mosquitoes will have food for ages"

Fifa just care about profits. Or they just slap teams to €20.000 fines and forget about it. In Italy black players are taunted on regular basis. In Israel supporters of a team didn't celebrate a goal because of the Arabic origin of the goalscorer. Zenith Ultras demanded that the club kept a pure race roster by not signing all non-whites. But hey it's all about money.

I can't get mad at comments like that because they're plainly stupid so I just disregard that. But xenophobe physical violence and laws are what I keep an eye on.

Common sense is not so common.

Greek youth are becoming more right wing as their financial crisis continues, they gather around the banner of the Golden Dawn (Nazi's) which have won some seats in parliament, Greeks are quite anti-foreigner, and anti-minority (They don't offically recognise other races in Greece), it's quite a racist country, more so than any other EU country, although their are some in Greece trying hard to control these influences

What that man did wasn't an accident

Eh.  Greece has a huge racism problem, but more then any other country feels like an exageration

What with Poland, Bolgaria and such.

Now what are you trying to suggest here?

I think the penalty is deserved. I think you really have to be retarded to believe a 20-yo European wouldn't know what this gesture means. It's a pity that such a cool Roman sign was turned into something representing such evil.

That Poland is quite racist.

As for a 20 year old europeon... hell, even a 20 year old american would DEFINITLY know what that was.

I mean, America loves WW2.  The history channel used to be nothing but WW2 because WW2 was the history americans liked most because WW2 is one of the biggest points in US history... espeically from the "Great country" narrative since the Nazis were essentially as far "universally evil" as you are ever going to get.

And you base that on?

Milawa riots and general treatment of the Roma, various racist incidents involving poland in soccer games.

Though looking at it, it does look like they've seen a decrease recently, so good on them.  Good to hear I am part Polish afterall.

Well, the problem with the Roma is present from Portugal-Russia. England seems to have a bad image in Poland due to historical events. It looks like it will increase as the Euro zone social and economic instability will continue for a while unfortunately.

What an overreaction. We live in a pathetic world. Maybe fine him or ban him a game or whatever...but seriously a lifetime ban? Not like he was inciting genocide, it was a simple salute.

He's stupid enough to preach Nazi beliefs and actions like the salute. He deserves to be banned. You don't do the Hitler Salute randomly, he intended on doing it.

Xbox Series, PS5 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

Prediction: Switch 2 will outsell the PS5 by 2030

What's Milawa riots? I've never heard of it. Even google isn't helping.

Roma? You are clearly mistaking countries. They are a serious issue in Slovakia, Czech Republic and maybe Romania and Hungary, but not in Poland. Also I can't recall a single racist incident in Polish football games and being Polish I watch all games our boys play :) In fact there was one African player who got Polish citisenship after a huge social outcry, cause he was so popular that everyone wanted him to play for us:

So yeah, you are seriously wrong. I can assure you, that Poland is among the countries where racism is the smallest of issues, you can't even compare Poland to France, Germany, Greece or Russia, these countries are in a different league. I'm not saying not a single person in Poland is racist, but you will find an idiot or two in every country in the world, just the scope here is nowhere near as big as in other countries. There is no political party or organised movement that unites such people here, it just isn't a real issue, cause the number of such people is so insignificant.

In fact if you study the history of Poland, you'll see that Poles always been the most tolerant nation in Europe. In the exact same time when Germany was divided into almost a hundred different countries warring with each other because of their religion and when in France they were contrantly mass murdering themselves basing on creed, we had a Catholic king, Protestant speaker of the Parliament, the biggest Jewish minority in the World and a significant Muslim minority. The Jewish and Muslim minorities enjoyed the same rights as the Catholics, they had their nobles and stuff - something impossible in the West at that time. Even though we were such a mix, we have never had a single uprising, war or civil war caused by religion. Whole Europe was full of Jewish ghettos, while the first ghetto in Poland was created in... 1940 by Hitler. Also right now the Polish Muslims lead probably the easiest of lives in the West, since they are just normal parts of our society (I mean really normal), totally diffent to what Muslims are in other countries of the West. That's why I think we are the only country that helped USA attack Iraq that wasn't attacked back by terrorists and it's pretty much impossible to happen here. The attacks in USA, UK, Spain, etc. were all performed with the help of local Muslims, which would be totally impossible in Poland.

It really beats me why there are so many people in the West who claim that Poland is racist or antisemitic, while in reality it really isn't an issue here.
