Forums - General - My ex came to see her kids for the first time in two years- first night at a hotel with them she braided my daughters hair like a Ghetto child and gave my boys earrings....

Why was she gone for 2 years?

By the way, my daughter loves braids.

She is white.

Just to clear it up; which braids are we talking about? These?

My daughter?

Not sure exactly if I can pinpoint a type. She just enjoys getting her hair done.

Hrm, I was just asking because I think Ryan is talking about "Cornrows" (which is pretty much braided hair) and I didn't know if you were thinking the same thing as him.

No one in their school has earrings, and she is a princess....not a rappers wife.

Plus she brings me hand me down clothes for them. Not to he rude, but the clothing is aimed at inner city kids.

Remember..my kids are white and in yuppie neighborhoods. Should I listen to her wishes or change them back to normal as soon as she leaves for two more years?

Maybe you should let your kids do what they want to do.

They are four, seven, and nine years old. When they are in 7-12 grade they can make those types of choices. Silly. Didn't you ever see that Adam Sandler movie " That's my boy"?

Oh, nvm I didn't know their ages. Even so, I had my ears pierced at nine, and everyone thought I was cool shit. A little white girl with cornrows is cute, and will make her feel special. That's my opinion. Your kids should grow up with diversity.

I agree with this.

You want your kids to grow up to be tolerable of others. You don't want them to think badly of someone because of how they style their hair.

This especially. Don't push your admittedly narrow views onto your kids :P lol

Seems kinda retarded to view the wearing of earrings as a racial thing, especially when half of the white woman on campus wears them. The inner city clothing part I can understand, however.

but she gave the earrings to his boy. A dude man o.O
