Update is coming to Music app, i admit its good looking but needs update because it crashes often and you cant even order music by artist or name... its stupid.

until they update it you should try spotify, its free and awsome. give it a try.

I think it is fair to say that windows 8 is a very unfriendly interface.  The bones of the program may be good but the presentation is subpar.

You do realize by saying that, you are saying Windows has had an unfriendly interface since...forever? Because the only slight change to the interface is the Start button now encompasses an entire screen.

It has all those cumbersome fullscreen apps that aren't designed for a mouse.

The fact that third parties have made apps that you deem to be cumbersome doesn't mean Windows 8 has an unfriendly interface. It means the apps developed for Windows 8 are poor.

I also have to laugh, because every single argument I've heard from people in this thread are the classics that were used against Windows by people that very likely didn't touch it. Because all of the annoying stuff meant for touching and not for a mouse? Its just as easy or easier with a mouse. You didn't want to hear that though, so I'll keep quiet about it.

I am using Windows 8 right now. So yeah.

Have you ever used the Twitter app? You have to click and hold the scroll bar and pull it up to refresh.

Similar thing with the start button on the desktop. I have to put my cursor in the top-right corner and drag it down and click start.

Easier to navigate with a mouse? Sure.

This kinda stuff does belong on a desktop. Apple still maintains OS X and iOS as separate platforms. I'm not sure what Microsoft was thinking here.

I'm confident they will tone it down in Windows 9 just like they did with the ribbon.

How do I have Pandora radio running in IE and keep it playing when I minimize the window like I did with Vista, XP, etc...?How do I get it to look like the windows of old because I really dislike this new style, as does my fiance.   Thanks.

Oh come on man. Spend a week or two using it and then if you have some legitimate questions, ask away... This whole tread reeks of trolling on Windows.

As I already mentioned, that is an application. Don't dismiss Windows 8 because the applications are poorly made (not to mention, every windows 7 program still works on Windows 8, so there is no reason you can't still use programs just like you did before).

As for your second point, how long have you been using Windows (not just 8)? The start button has always been in the lower left part of the screen, correct? Rather than sliding, did the thought ever occur to you, just maybe, to go ahead and put your cursor in the lower left side of the screen (just like you had to do in every previous iteration), and just ATTEMPT to click there (even though there is no official start button there)? You'll find a very magical thing will happen. As a matter of fact, it is so magical, that your start menu will appear. How about that beautiful windows key on your keyboard. I'm certain you have one, just like every computer does. Perhaps, just perhaps, just like in all the past iterations of windows, your start menu will appear when you press this button.

People like you need to stop acting like Windows 8 is some horribly foreign thing that we have never seen and will never begin to understand. It isn't that different. If you haven't had the guts to figure things out (or the smarts to just go to one of a million websites attempting to help people despite the insanely minimal differences), and due to this, don't know what you are talking about, stop complaining about it.

Someone should not require a week or two before they could ask question or criticize an OS they have used for the last 20+ years.

This thread is far from a troll. I did not spend nearly $1000 to make a thread to bitch about Windows 8. Confusion and complaint due to being new =/= trolling.

Not all of us have disposable income like that or the time to waste on trolling a PC operating system.

Thanks for your help.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

^^ I don't think your trolling or anything of the like but I do think you need to give it a chance. It is very different hence there will be a pretty big learning curve but once you figure out how everything works you will see it really is better in every way to Windows 7. When I first used Windows 8, I thought it was not quite as good as Windows 7; but now that I've been using it and have found out how to do everything I normally do I think it is better in every way. On a touchscreen, it's absolutely magnificent; on an average desktop and laptop it's simply better than Windows 7.

i love windows 7 lol hell i had to google how to turn windows 8 off smdh... sadly as soon as i started typing in chrome windows 8 how.... the autofill said shut off lol

Wait, you don't know how to close "apps"? Just grab the top of the screen and drag it down to the bottom man.

Yet here we are... Slamming the whole operating system and its layout because we can't fgure out how to run Pandora minimized.

All you had to do is ask..."How do I make Windows 8 look more like Windows 7 while utilizing all benefits Windows 8 has to offer?"

I'm sure one of the first 5 posters would have replied "Install Start8" and you would have been on your merry way not wasting any time.
