I think it is fair to say that windows 8 is a very unfriendly interface.  The bones of the program may be good but the presentation is subpar.

You do realize by saying that, you are saying Windows has had an unfriendly interface since...forever? Because the only slight change to the interface is the Start button now encompasses an entire screen.

It has all those cumbersome fullscreen apps that aren't designed for a mouse.

The fact that third parties have made apps that you deem to be cumbersome doesn't mean Windows 8 has an unfriendly interface. It means the apps developed for Windows 8 are poor.

I also have to laugh, because every single argument I've heard from people in this thread are the classics that were used against Windows by people that very likely didn't touch it. Because all of the annoying stuff meant for touching and not for a mouse? Its just as easy or easier with a mouse. You didn't want to hear that though, so I'll keep quiet about it.

I am using Windows 8 right now. So yeah.

Have you ever used the Twitter app? You have to click and hold the scroll bar and pull it up to refresh.

Similar thing with the start button on the desktop. I have to put my cursor in the top-right corner and drag it down and click start.

Easier to navigate with a mouse? Sure.

This kinda stuff does belong on a desktop. Apple still maintains OS X and iOS as separate platforms. I'm not sure what Microsoft was thinking here.

I'm confident they will tone it down in Windows 9 just like they did with the ribbon.
