Wat i dont understand is why people cant take out $20 extra for the CPP? I mean 1st of all the 3DS is more fit with just 1 anolog(even though i wish it had 2 to begin with) and while some games scream a second anolog like RE revelations and MH3U(both work good without 2nd analog either way) why cant they just buy a CPP? Complaints its more $$ but rather have it on Vita?

Well you can get 3 CPP with a 3DS and it'll be cheaper than a vita cuz you'll need to get a memory card anyway. Some people will agree with this guy only cuz MH3U is not on the platform they want. Its too bad, Get both Handhelds and if not dont complain.

I want Gravity Rush and One Piece Warriors 2. You dont hear me saying it'll be better on 3DS cuz of 2 screens. Its my problem i dont own a vita yet. Plain and Simple

It's not a price problem. It's a design problem. Some games require a 2nd analog and the CPP is Nintendo admitting to a flaw in the 3DS design.
The whole point this guy made is how they are putting a game on a platform that doesn't even make sense purely for profit. It's obvious that console-style games aren't a very good fit for the 3DS and that's what Monster Hunter is. A console-style game. Vita is perfect for console style games. Some keep bashing the Vita calling it a PS3 port machine but that's actually one of its advantages IMO.

Most games don't need the analog. It only hurts MH3 in underwater fights, and MH4 won't have any.

@ the platform not making sense for profit, how so? The Vita hasn't been selling, and they already made a deal with Nintendo. Vita exclusive would've been a disaster.

As for where the game should be - the games should be where they sell the best, that's how the industry works. Otherwise, there's no sense in having any home consoles at all, because they're all inferior to PC's. Just listen to the elitist PC crowd who whine about how console games have ruined gaming.

The most popular MH games were on PSP, which didn't have a second stick, so obviously the target audience can live without it. Personally, I kinda missed it in those games, but not enough to complain about it. Besides, he can buy the CirclePad Pro anyway, so what's he bitching about? He didn't exactly specify what it is that he doesn't like about the addon.

As far as a second screen goes, I doubt many people were asking for it before Ninty did it, but I, for one, went "That's so useful! I can't believe I didn't think of it before!" when exposed to the DS, and even the Wii U.

But people had to live with it on PSP because there was no solution to it. There is now. It's called the Vita.

The Monter Hunter games sold millions on PSP. There's a reason for that. It's because the PSP doesn't have Pokemon or Mario. Monster Hunter pretty much had the PSP all to itself. Monster Hunter on the 3DS will have trouble reaching the same success as the PSP since it has a lot more competition. This is why you see 3rd party games selling better on Vita or PSP instead of DS or 3DS.

Yes, the games should be where they sell best and for Monster Hunter that should be the PSP or Vita. Capcom has to build a fanbase for the franchise on the 3DS when there is already one on the PSP. If they had made a Monster Hunter game for Vita, it would have been a smooth transition. But Nintendo stepped in and pulled a Microsoft. Now look at the Japanese market. Look how dreadful those sales are across the board....3DS isn't picking up the slack for the Vita.  This may sound crazy but the lack of Monster Hunter on the Vita due to some Nintendo/Capcom deal has hurt the games industry in Japan.

even though i agree with the huge psp user base, its to early to tell. You dont how well MH4 will sell. It might do as good as the best 2 titles did on the psp. Just saying maybe you should determine that after summer.

Though he's very...passionate about his views, he's correct from a hardware standpoint. Two screen offer nothing, 3D offers nothing. Touch screen + stylus were the only good gimmicks for the DS.
The DS is the greatest handheld console of all time for me because of the games, but from a pure hardware standpoint it's a steaming pile of trash.

I really don't get what the big deal about the way MH plays on 3ds. Didn't the MH psp games play exactly the same and those still sold millions. 3ds MH is better since you can sorta use the touch screen to change the camera which you couldn't do on the psp at all. I've been playing MH for hours just fine without the cpp but maybe I'm just weird like that.

Lol, this guy...I've heard nothing but praise up to this point.  What exactly did they do that was insulting I wonder?

I don't really know anything about him, so I decided to Google him.  I typed "fez creator" and the first suggestion from Google was "fez creator racist".  I'll bet he is a real winner.

Switch - Super Mario Maker 2 (2019)
3DS - Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (Trilogy) (2005/2014)

PC - Borderlands 2 (2012)
PC - Deep Rock Galactic (2020)

Two screens offer plenty, provided you have the creative mind. It can range from simply having constant, easy access to a map items for on the fly use during a battle (Adventure Time), to something as complicated as managing and playing two separate game fields (The World Ends With You).

Has anyone here actually played Fractured Soul? This is an excellent, tough as nails platformer that literally would not be POSSIBLE without a second screen. In the game you are constantly warping between play fields, sometimes in mid jump, and it tests your reflexes in a way no single game could.

Two screens is plenty useful. Though, in the end, it's the games that matter, and this lack of "one big screen" and second stick doesn't really keep the 3DS from still being a better system with better games then the Vita. I LOVE my Vita, but all I've really used it for for the last several months is console ports and Monkey Ball. Thank god I'm a person who prefers handheld gaming, because any person who prefers playing games on a BIG screen...like, say, a television, wouldn't have much exclusive content to play with on the Vita.

I'm pretty disappointed to hear any game creator talk like this. Especially when, if these are really such major issues, he could just either get a circle pad pro (which WORKS PRETTY DAMN WELL, frankly) or....play the game on Wii U, where you not only get two analog sticks, but also access to a MUCH bigger screen.

If they did something it most have been during the DS and Wii. With the Wii U and 3DS indie devs are very happy: http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/189180/Nintendos_Adelman_talks_easier_requirements_for_3DS_Wii_U_indie_dev.php

Very long but interesting read.

I agree.
