Forums - Nintendo - Fez creator rants about the 3DS

What a shame. A developer openly admiting that he is a fanboy. This is just very, very unprofessional.

You never know what the future reserves in this industry, so it would be great if developers just tryied to get the best of their own work and learn to work with some different platforms.

Without regards to anything else he said, I think he's right about the Monster Hunter situation. It doesn't make a lot of sense, especially when that goofy Circle Pro thing. Pretty much everyone was throwing around criticism when that came out, and rightly so.

You can control the camera with the touchscreen, and that feature has been praised for many reviewers. The circle pad pro isn´t that necessary to play monster hunter. But I do admit that the 3DS should have the second analog stick by default. In my opinion, that was the main flaw Nintendo did with their product.

i get that but considering they went as far as to make a addon and sell it with the game....id say its the preferred means of control for a game like MH, otherwise they wouldnt have bothered.

"Preferred" by whom?

Well the consumers didnt make the addon....so who do you think :?

I "think" that what the developer prefers amounts to a hill of beans when compared to what the consumer prefers. Do you disagree?

I agree...but how are we gonna determine what consumers prefer :? thats a tough one to do. But looking at the natural progression of control input i would guess that two sticks are the generally accepted prefered means of control for this particular type of game. Would you agree?

Resorting to personal attacks and getting on the defensive, aren't we? To be fair, I don't expect much from you either.

See, I'm not on the mood of convincing you. It will play just as good on the 3DS, whether the console looks more bulky than intended or not. I'll enjoy it just as much as on any other console. People are trying to force the "would have played better on Vita" thing, but in truth, it's just the pain of the loss.

We can't have one single exclusive, because as soon as we do, we get comments on how it would have been better on a Sony console.

Personal attacks? Are you for real? Me not having an expectation of a good quality post from you is not an attack on you. It just means i think you are a shitty poster.

Dude you very well know your initial post was meant to cause trouble. People were discussing the topic in a healthy way. Again you are making this a console fanboy thing...you actually still stuck on that. Its amazing. And you actually want to convince me :? Id say im the reasonable one here -_-

You are seriously deluded <-------there is a personal attack btw.

To be honest, I had a hard time using the Wiimote+nunchuk combo on Tri, and usually used the Control Pad instead, so my own preference is for that second stick.

However, I'd argue that the fact that the CPP has sold far, far, far less units than Monster Hunter Tri G did serves as some strong evidence that the Japanese consumer either prefers a single stick or, equally plausibly, is pretty indifferent. They did the Monster Hunter Claw for years on the PSP, so I guess they're pretty much used to it by now.

@Moreno & Shinobi

You guys need to walk away from your conversation. Obviously nothing good is happening here.

@OP

If there's such an issue with graphical quality or control issues, there's always the Wii U version. Plus the Wii U version offers off-T.V. play, so it offers a (somewhat ) portable experience. Looks like a win-win situation to me...

as much as i agree wit you unfortunately people will always make excuses since its not on their platform. You'll hear next "Why i have to pay $350+ to play MH3U?" Then you will reply Vita is almost the same $250+memory+game= way over $300

The most popular MH games were on PSP, which didn't have a second stick, so obviously the target audience can live without it. Personally, I kinda missed it in those games, but not enough to complain about it. Besides, he can buy the CirclePad Pro anyway, so what's he bitching about? He didn't exactly specify what it is that he doesn't like about the addon.

As far as a second screen goes, I doubt many people were asking for it before Ninty did it, but I, for one, went "That's so useful! I can't believe I didn't think of it before!" when exposed to the DS, and even the Wii U.

I feel sorry for those who defended this moron.

No one asked for that port lol

I apologize in advance for my bad english.
