Rolls eyes..
There is a difference between mandatory and optional...and 360 games are a paltry 5-9GBs compared to 50 - 100.

Oh, and not a very clever way to avoid addressing points, sorry.

pc games arent 50-100 gigs yet either so i dont see why the next box games will be

because it helps argumentations why nextbox/ms is bad and sony isn't.

lot of eyerolling today for me. PS3 games ARE. Oh, so what, suddenly all your ports are going to be PC games? (Not like that's any different than it is now)

No, the medium they use is. SOME ps3 games are. And which game is even remotely 100 gigs big?

Many games on ps3 use uncompressed audio and video and hi-res textures. This is going to be more standard in the future. With some of the games we've seen, expect 50GB games.

Many games use hi-res-textures? Well, so be it...

But arguing what is "many" and what is not is irrelevant. You said ps3 games ARE which was and is WRONG. Talking about future games is speculation and opinion. Some games might be 50Gb but many won't given many titles will be available at nextbox, ps4 and PC - I highly doubt that PC-games will reach 50 Gb in the next, say, 2 years. There are always smart ways of compression and compression techniques also get better and better over time.

I want to argue with somebody. I wanna take sides. All I get is being ignored. Yet I still don't understand why so much talk over something unconfirmed.

If you want people to engage you in conversation just choose one of the following as your opening sentence:

1) lol as I thought, no one is going to buy the Nextbox

2) lol the only ones that believe this are Sony fanboys, the ones that came up with this rumor to begin with

3) Nextbox could charge you everytime you turn it on and still would sell more than the WiiU

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

Doesn't xbox live games currently operate under a similar banner. My gold subscription expired and now when I try and play Banjo Tooie a game I bought with my gold membership, I am only allowed to to play the trial, but I know 2000% I bought the game in full. Is this the norm?

No, I'm guessing you bought the game while you owned one console, then got a different one or are playing it on a different one than you originally purchased.

If that is the case, you can transfer the licenses from one console to another and you'll have full/functional use of the content.  Without the license transfer, no.

All content with Microsoft is licensed to the user (primary) and the console (secondary).  If the console doesn't change, anyone on that console can use the content regardless of whether or not they purchased it.  If the console changes, then the only person who can use it is the person who downloaded it after they connect to Xbox LIVE.

If the license is transfered, then the purchaser can use the content without an Xbox LIVE connection.  Others on the console may not.  It depends on how the license transfer is done.  If Microsoft brokered the license transfer as a part of a repair, it likely won't.  However, if you handle the license transfer via Xbox LIVE, then everyone on the console will have full access to the content.

If you have multiple consoles, then the only console it will work on without an Xbox LIVE connection is the original console on which it was purchased.

Hope this helps.

Oh God thanks, I completely forgot that I had a different Xbox back in 2009!!!

whats wrong with this picture

sony fans read

"PS4 radically reduces the lag time between players and their content. PS4 features “suspend mode” which keeps the system in a low power state while preserving the game session. The time it takes today to boot a console and load a saved game will be a thing of the past. With PS4, gamers just hit the power button again and are promptly back playing the game at the exact point where they left off. Additionally, users can boot a variety of applications including a web browser when playing a game on PS4."

oooh nice feature

then they read

“Durango will implement different power states so that it can always be powered on, but will draw minimal electricity when not in use,” the document reads. “The console will be ready instantly when users want to play, and will always maintain a network connection so that console software and games are always current. With this “Always On, Always Connected” design, users will quickly and easily enjoy their connected entertainment experiences, with no waiting for the console to restart or install games.”

thats the death of microsoft what a terrible idea
