Wow what a shocking suprise, another unnecessary Sony exclusive bombed! :LOL

THIS comment I just don't get.....how did it bomb exactly? Not being funny it just doesn't make sense seeing as this is only the UK and to top if off will be only the first week of sales....so I don't get how it bombed.....yet anyway. It can happen but your comment just says something more.....I guess....to each his/her own...

The absence of evidence is NOT the evidence of absence...

just what I was expecting. I think the sales will drop much faster then the GoW 3 sales.

Ehh. I think the sales are acceptable. Like the article pointed out, yes, it sold less than 3. But it also was the second highest selling in the series, so that's pretty positive imo. Very rarely do you see a series continually sell more with each iteration. GOW fans shouldn't worry.

skyrim is truly a monster

Worst GOW ever in the franchise, shm -_-

Not exactly. Ghost of Sparta was called the best God of War game on PSP yet it completely flopped. The PSP was dead by the time the game released in America.
With God of War Ascension, not only did the reviews affect its sales, but the extremely long console cycle.

So look like the "bad revies " hurt the sales of this game. That and the fact taht it is a prequel and not another sequel.

But i never expectet this game to sell more than God of War 3 lifetime anyway. Anbything between 3 and 4 million lifetime should be fine for that game so late in the gen.

It'll be lucky to reach 2 million considering it came out so near the end of the current generation.  Can you see people buying this game in 2014 when PS4 is out?

Ridiculous. It will easly reach 2 million.

The UK market was never important for GoW sales, clearly, since GoWIII sold a bit over double that and yet still far below 100k (and GoW:A is the second biggest opening in the series...). The game still opened with over 1.2m WW because the sales in USA were huge.

Now I just hope the pre-orders in USA weren't overtracked for some reason.

You got a source for that?

In for a bet pal? Cuz imma give you acess to my signature for 3 years if GOW ascension does not sell more than 2 mil :) I would give you more, but I just don't want you to get too hyped

Like people didn't buy God of War 2 because PS3 came out?

You literally couldn't have picked a better franchise to illustrate the point with.

mmm...no.  It is actually the best.       Most reviewers of this game are just people who does not how to play a game properly.  "It is too hard", and most people did it in their first try;  "there is a puzzle I am stuck" Most people did it without any help.   "The multiplayer is tacked on" =  "I suck at the multiplayer".    It is like if they gave the game to gamers  that play mobile games the most in order to review, OH WAIT! they did it   >_>  (looks at gamespot review)

The IGN review is pretty hilarious too. I never thought an IGN review can be so poor.
