I don't care much about camera quality but I must agree with you regarding the cheap crappy plastic that Samsung uses. It really lets the phone down and makes it hard for me to consider buying one. I want quality build as well as everything else, that's just me.

HTC is struggling big time with sales and showed -91% profit in 2012, massively down from the previous year. Why should Samsung care what a dying company thinks. HTC probably won't be around much longer, considering they invested so much in the Chinese market and that is proving to be a a wasted effort.

A company can build the best product they are able to. But if their brand is not relevant anymore,it won't sell.

It's really a shame.  

You forgot the Xperia Z, that has better build quality and is a much more beautiful than both IMO(hate that soapbar design on these new high-end smartphones). But I agree with you, releasing a high-end phone with the kind of build quality SIV/SIII has is laughable. Camera wise they aren't really comparable, as HTC One does better shots at night but can't compete during daytime thanks to the 4MP sensor compared to the 13MP on SIV. Better screen is relative, because HTC is LCD, Samsung is AMOLED and the screens have the same PPI, both have advantages and weaknesses, altough I much prefer AMOLED screens thanks to black level. About the lighter Android skin, you're right, altough SIV offers more features on it's Android skin than HTC(S Translator, and a few others).

Wow, surprised they didn't update it. I previously had an S2 and they released Jelly Bean for it a few months ago so I thought it was great Samsung continues to support old phones but I guess its only for the best selling phones.  I suppose when buying Samsung phones you should just stick to their Galaxy S phones cause those are their flagship devices. 

Ya you said it right HTC One has got nothing on Xperia Z. Infact I think even Galaxy S4 is better.

yeah, my father has the galaxy note, its just a different experience completely. yeah when buying a samsung phone you should stick with the galaxy s or note devices. 

Why? Apple makes a new phone, they add something that's already been done (4G, etc etc) Samsung makes a new phone, they innovate (Smart features, hand sensors, eye tracking, etc etc)

You see the difference right? Apple doesn't innovate. People buy into Apple because its Apple. But Samsung actually does something different with each iteration. The S2 didn't look that much different from the S1 did it? No! Just as the Wii U looks similar too the Wii, my point is...

Well, I would love to get an HTC One when my contracts up in July but that doesn't seem likely because I have Verizon and for some reason they will not be carrying the phone :(

So wait, the HTC One is better just because its aluminum? What about a user such as myself who uses a case and doesn't care what it is made of? What about a user such as myself that is a heavy user while storm chasing, and absolutely needs the ability to replace the battery on the fly, because they certainly don't last for a whole day of chasing. And the better camera...what? You've seen pictures? Because both are considered to be great cameras with lots of features (and if one of the things you need to be doing is enlarging photos at all, stay away from the HTC One no matter what). Lets see, what else, oh yea, the Galaxy S4 has a 5" screen versus the 4.7" screen on HTC One.

It isn't at all clear based on those pictures which phone is better, as there is a lot more to it than that. They are both great phones. It is, however, clear that you just don't like Samsung based on your ability to just act like the HTC One walks all over the Galaxy S4.

Edit: Oh man, I forgot the most important thing. Where exactly is the SD card slot on that HTC One?

Well, the design is better, and you can't discredit that just because you use a case.

Battery feature is valid, I'll give you that.

Camera on HTC one is superior, there was a comparison over on the verge. I can't find it now, but I will look.

Anyway, S4 has 13 megapixels, but megapixels don't really matter, it's about the sensors, and what you do with the pixels. HTC One uses ultra pixels, which let in more light, for clearer pictures. You clearly don't understand cameras.

Also, HTC one has a better screen, they are both 1080 p, but the galaxy uses Pentile, which makes it look washed out. Being a little bit smaller also makes it look better as well. Besides, who needs a 5 inch phone anyway? Sammy is getting ridiculous with the enlargement of their phones.

I don't dislike Samsung, it's just clear that they got beat this year in terms of quality. Do your research, and stop defending a piece of plastic like it's your grandmother, and I just beat her.
