It's clear who made the better phone, unfortunately, it's also clear which one will sell better.

Why would it be clear based on two images?

Design. One is made of flimsy plastic, and the other is made of aluminum.

 

In more depth though. The HTC one has a much better camera, a lighter skin of Android that works better, and a better screen.

 

I don't care much about camera quality but I must agree with you regarding the cheap crappy plastic that Samsung uses. It really lets the phone down and makes it hard for me to consider buying one. I want quality build as well as everything else, that's just me.

HTC is struggling big time with sales and showed -91% profit in 2012, massively down from the previous year. Why should Samsung care what a dying company thinks. HTC probably won't be around much longer, considering they invested so much in the Chinese market and that is proving to be a a wasted effort.
