It takes some guts to stand up to the big guy and call his work a flop. And bravery is usually to be admired. But it takes a bit more than bravery to classify the next big thing from the world’s leading smartphone manufacturer (your competitor) as #TheNextBigFlop, unless you are alright with people taking your comment for an arrogant sign of a deeply rooted inferiority complex.

Whatever the reason, HTC, or rather the PR people behind HTC Twitter account did just that by calling today’s Galaxy S4 announcement #TheNextBigFlop.

haha and thats the problem, the S4 will could actually outsell all HTC phones combined.

I have no doubt in my mind that the S4 will still sell gangbusters. Though I fear they're going down the Apple route as of late.

Releasing pretty much the same phone with incremental upgrades and additional size options.

In game terms it would be the Activision route.

pretty much every smart phone company does that, there isnt enough technological advancments that happen within a years time.

People panned Apple when the iPhone 5 came out for having nothing new

Now the GS4 was announced, with even less new.

I think it's time for Samsung to cop a bit of flak, might make them do something for the S5 other than simply make all specs ever so slightly better.

Doing incremental upgrades to their phones I guess. Yet you still see people out there saying the S4 is "overspecced"

The S4 show was very lame, and I was quite disappointed Samsung would spend so much money on that.
However, HTC is slowly dying, and although they try so hard to compete with Samsung, they are failing. Besides, its stupid to think that such a great phone like the S4 with such a strong brand name will not sell well.
