Forums - Nintendo - Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate WiiU Sells Out at Capcom Store!

I was worried that everyone would just get this on 3DS and ignore the Wii U version.

Between this and LEGO City hopefully Wii U hardware will get a boost for the week ending 23rd of March.

The 3DS version IS higher on the Amazon charts, but according to the Capcom Unity store, they had plenty of 3DS copies in stock.  With WiiU they sold out.

It already looks like this is what's going to happen.  See, all that Nintendo WiiU needed was something called games.  And not just quickie, throwaway shovelware either; but genuine, honest efforts.  Interestingly, both of these two titles are third party titles (Lego City may be published by Nintendo, but it's still technically third party).

Dont forget guys, wii u version gets $20 off on amazon if you also get the 3DS version!

Wow, that's an even bigger bargain.  So there ya go.  WiiU's first system seller in four months!

I wonder whether the LEGO City/Monster Hunter boost will be a brief  bump or whether it will raise baseline sales in the long term...

Probably a momentary bump, as both are niche but still highly anticipated titles.  There are other titles gamers are anticipating as well.  Those will cause for similar bumps.  Mario 3D, Zelda WWHD, and Mario Kart will be the real baseline sale lifters though, even if both are a bit off toward the Q3-Q4 period.

If February got a modest boost, March's will be bigger.  The question is, by how much.  Either way, we'll find out for sure.

I thought we weren't allowed to have positive outlooks on the Wii U's future anymore.

Is it safe to be openly optimistic in this thread?

Says who?  Since when did THAT become a standard?  Two bad months after launch = doom?  Gimme a break.  The WiiU's future has only just begun.  And it's only going to get better.
