Call me crazy, but it seems like you're an angry fanbouy. Hopefully I'm wrong lol. It seems as if you made this thread just to prove a point that maybe a lot of people argue against?

EDIT: I wish I knew you in real life to simply prove most of your points wrong and see your very odd reactions, this thread is priceless  =D

Gotta love that- Edit- xD

I don't understand this thread. In the 95% of games that people have considered games of the generation, OP has come and bash them for it. o.O

Anyway, Braid. For bringing back the never-ending question about wether videogames can be considered art or not. Also, Metro 2033, for proving that FPS can create engaging atmosphere and story, and can last more than four hours.

I would say Demon's/Dark Souls games, but that would be a little biased. I think those games bring back the old-school gaming style, and I give 'em kudos for it.

look at the op he is banned, he certainly had his own agenda, or his bais is to strong that he cant accept that people have different opinions

Ahaha :D

Take my love, take my land..

Pyro as Bill said:

there was cover-based shooting before gears of war

And so was Motion control.

But it wasn't executed well till this gen and then everybody took notice and said "Oh this is a good idea. Let's use it in our game too"

ops forgot to reply to this

but yes gears did popularize cover-based shooting. but i honestly dont think thats enough to make it game of the generation. anyways everybody has their opinion

Depends on whether you're talking about influence or quality.

Also Just Dance has never been called Wii Dance, and maybe you haven't noticed but it's a multiplatform series now.

HA! I am all about praising the sun, UMBASA!

In no particular order:

Gears 1 (set the standard for 3rd person shooters this gen, its formula has been imitated countless times)

MW1 (epic set pieces, highly cinematic. Medal of Honor, Uncharted, etc have copied this formula to a T. And you move to MP and Jeebus, its almost impossible to play ANY online game of any genre that has not incorporated some CoD element into it.)

Bioshock (no game this gen has come close to the immersion, tense nature of the gameplay, and environment than Bioshock imho. The biggest testament to the quality of the foundation that Bioshock laid out, is that the sequel is a far, far cry from the original, yet the sequel is still a 9 out of 10 type game imho)

Fallout 3 (just about as perfect a blend of RPG and shooter as you can get. Just an amazing expierience)

Red Dead Redemption (some of the writing and characters are kind of meh but overall the scope of the game and the amazing gameplay as well as the story overall made it one of the best of the gen imho)
