ED was horrible, horrible game, great concept but extremely poorly executed.

I would love to get a new ED but I'm not getting my hopes up...

Its a good series, but it would be extremely generous of Nintendo to give this chance to silicon knights, wich are pretty much done at this point. I'm pretty sure all the talent left already aswell...
With that said, with a different developer it might work, or if they can somehow reform silicon knights to make it good again. We have to remember that silicon knights made quite a good remake of metal gear solid. Lots of people seem to forget that.
Silicon knights seems to only have been good under Nintendo supervision. They definitly cant afford anymore mistakes nor can they be kept on development hell for a long time like they did in the past.

Silicon knights are pretty much gone. They have a large debt, and fewer than five emploees. But nintendo can still give the title to someone else. And as you said, if there is one that can make silicon work again, it is nintendo.

Twelve characters in twelve different time periods. Some characters are from the same bloodline, but this has nothing to do with time travel and reliving lives. The main character reads eleven chapters from an ancient tome and you get to play those. |
All right. I would want such a game.
Did you play the original one?

One thing you have to understand with Eternal Darkness is that it originally began its development as a N64 game during the era of hype that followed Resident Evil and a few of its clones. Graphically it was elevated but the gameplay wasn't really pushed that much more then RE: Code Veronica was in a sense so it wasn't exactly a great experience due to its mechanics.
But while it was average in that area, its plot, presentation and things like the random sanity effects made the game a cult favorite. In the hands of a new developer and with even better hardware, Eternal Darkness may become a legit IP for Nintendo and a much needed exclusive aimed at more mature Western audiences outside of another Legend of Zelda or Metriod.

Care to elaborate?

I really like Eternal Darkness, but I don't think it needs a sequel. However, it would be a nice gift to fans if Nintendo added it to the Virtual Console on Wii U.

Yes, I own it. |
What did you think of it?
I love games with historical settings. I really really hope a sequel will come to Wii U.
