Is this the game where you timetravel and get to relive your life as a Roman soldier and a magician in ancient Egypt and stuff?

Twelve characters in twelve different time periods. Some characters are from the same bloodline, but this has nothing to do with time travel and reliving lives. The main character reads eleven chapters from an ancient tome and you get to play those.

All right. I would want such a game.

Did you play the original one?

One thing you have to understand with Eternal Darkness is that it originally began its development as a N64 game during the era of hype that followed Resident Evil and a few of its clones. Graphically it was elevated but the gameplay wasn't really pushed that much more then RE: Code Veronica was in a sense so it wasn't exactly a great experience due to its mechanics.

But while it was average in that area, its plot, presentation and things like the random sanity effects made the game a cult  favorite. In the hands of a new developer and with even better hardware, Eternal Darkness may become a legit IP for Nintendo and a much needed exclusive aimed at more mature Western audiences outside of another Legend of Zelda or Metriod.
