I'll agree it's a big leap... gotta love gravity.

just more PR speak. This seems to be happening alot lately, every since the ps4 was announced.

It seems like your having a reading comprehnion problem. Also... multiplications on a smaller level actually generally lead to more of a performance boost per amount added so... |
And seems like you have a spelling problem. See, cheapshots won't get us anywhere
This amount of RAM has never been added to a successor console before and that's a FACT
NES to SNES seems like a big jump only because of how laughable NES hardware was, even for it's own time. It's not much of an achievement to make a big jump from that
OMG- this will be bigger than the leap from 2d pixel based games, to fully 3d polygon gaming. Imagine all the new gameplay possibilities from the use of better textures, lighting, etc. It will be like the jump from pong, to modern gear of warfare 3.

Yeah exactly the case. NES hardware was extremely laughable even back then. Nintendo has always delivered a sub-par gaming experience, whereas Sony has redefined gaming time and time again. Also- ram and tech specs are DIRECTLY connected to the quality of the games and gameplay. Better specs = better games. That's just a simple fact. Sony will wow us again, just like cell technology crushed the 360's shitty hardware.

Depends on how you define sub-par gaming experience. If you're talking about specs, both N64 and GameCube were more powerful than their Playstation competitors. If you're talking about other stuff, i wouldn't really call NES a sub-par gaming experience, it was by far the only console worth owning in it's era. And i disagree with you on Better specs = better games. PS2 had the worst specs last gen, but few can deny it had by far the best library of games

He wasn't making a cheapshot; he was pointing out that you didn't actually answer his point at all. The conversation was about proportional leaps in power. NES to SNES was 64x and PS3 to PS4 is 16x. Therefore, the leap was bigger. It doesn't matter if NES hardware was crap; the leap was still bigger.
Also, your second argument is very difficult to process. You realize that when the Wii U was launched, you could make the same statement about it? It added 0.75GB more than Wii's RAM, if I'm not wrong. No other console had done that so far. Do you really think that means it was the biggest jump ever because of that?

Pointing out someone's reading comprehension is a cheapshot, no different than poiting out spelling mistakes. Difference is, English is probably his 1st language, while its my third
Yeah and those 64x didnt even add up to 1/5 of a Megabyte. Impressive jump lol. You can clearly see th 64x difference when comparing SMB3 and Super Mario World...
And yes, i could have made the same statement about WiiU, because it was the biggest leap until PS4 was announced
All relative to me. Worst jump was SNES to N64 and best was PSone to PStwo. Honestly games could slow down and be fine seeing refinement as graphics are reaching point I am content with.

I think the 3rd to 4th generation jump was larger.
