Who cares really?

Windows 8 tablets generic is what really matters. I'd like to see that number by the end of 2013 and 2014.

I suspect that eventually this will be like saying Android is a flop because Google don't sell many phones.

C'mon kowen.. this is the flagship win8 tablet.. you can't deny its not doing well..

I have just said its not, but my point stands... does it matter?  If Win 8 tablets / hybrid laptops do well then MS is happy.

I think some people here for some reason have a difficulty in separating Surface and generic windows 8 devices.

....and to be fair 400k for the Pro in a month is very good IMO. Thats $400m revenue isnt it?

Revenue alone means absolutely bugger all I'm afraid my friend.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

I'm sure Microsoft cares. It was the flagship tablet. It could make the use of W8 popular for the... Oh... Nevermind... You are...

Yeah, nobody cares.

Is that bad?

Time will tell. I still have faith that Windows will be success in tablet area. I am happy that I am one of those 1.1million Surface RT users.

That's...bad? How much do tablets like this normally sell? iPad excluded, of course.

We got numbers about the others. Nexus 7 is around 6~8 million units, selling normally one million per month. Kindle Fire HD is probably in the 8 million to 10 million mark. The Galaxy line from Samsung should be close to Kindle, since they had half of the Android tablet marketshare during some periods.

I'm sure they do... who else does?

I do. As some of the people who posted. I thought the RT could be popular. I think W8 is gonna be behind Android and IOS in tablets. I know RT is only a device, and that there are gonna be lots and lots of non MS tablets with W8. I can't see them doing better than the RT.

Can someone let me know what else tablets were sold more than Surface except ipad and those cheap Android tablets or those 7-inch Android tablets?

Nowadays, the main brand tablets except iPad are Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, Asus Transformer, Sony Xperia Tablet S, Google Nexus 10. What else?

Can someone show me a solid proof that that each of above Android tablets sold way more than Surface RT?

I've seen more advertisement for this than all PS3 exclusives of the last 5 years combined lol

So you're saying that advertising makes no difference to sales then? ;)
