Wise decision. When games you'd like come to the console you'll buy again. Then one more sale will appear in the front of this page.

Proud to be the first cool Nintendo fan ever

Number ONE Zelda fan in the Universe

DKCTF didn't move consoles

Prediction: No Zelda HD for Wii U, quietly moved to the succesor

A true gamer doesn't trade in a console after a couple months, simply because there's a dry spell of software (which always happens in the beginning of a console lifecycle). If you expect ps4 and nextbox to come out with a plethora of brand-new exclusive software and content, then get ready to be thoroughly disappointed.

This is bullshit "a true gamer" does what he want to do. Who do you think you are to make assumptions like this. If somebody buys a consoles and is dissapointed by it what else is he suppossed to do?

Instead of playing zero games on the wii u in the next 6 -8 month
you can play now dozens of great games for little money.
Uncharted and MGS or Infamous and lbp are great and pretty cheap, all the hd collections(ratchet, sly, mgs) are even cheaper(3games for 15-30bucks) and ps+ is very cheap and offers lots of games. The last of us and beyond=two great games to comeAnd you have a blu ray player now.(and gta,rdr etc etc etc)
You won't have time to regret while playing all these games.

And you won't lose money-at the end of the year there will be a Wii U pricecut and you may buy a used Wii U for less than 200dollars if you want to buy one again.

He already did technically lose money. Purchased items at retail (system + games + sales tax) at X dollars, sold used for Y dollars, X-Y=loss (around $200), purchased new PS3 at retail instead of used. Instead of taking a financial loss, he could have purchased a used PS3 from a retailer, or found one with games included through craigslist or ebay for the same amount as the loss. If he would be purchasing new games for WiiU if they were available, the amount of money that would have been used for new games (if they were available) could cover a used PS3 with some games. I doubt there will be used WiiU Deluxe's that cheap even with a price cut due to many good games being out and holiday season (higher demand). I'm not saying getting a PS3 was a bad decision, just that trading a recently purchased item at a substantial loss, then purchasing a new PS3 at retail is a poor financial decision.

Hey, do whatever you want. Honestly, I think it's always a better idea to buy a last gen system than to buy a next gen one early on. It's inexpensive, has a massive library, cheap games, and 1yr PS+ is just the icing on the cake. I guess you'll know if it was a mistake by the end of the year, but I seriously doubt you'll regret it.

Wii U isn't gonna turn into another Dreamcast, though.

EDIT: Oh, you already owned a PS3 before? That changes things a bit...

Lovely. Former Nintendo fans always become the worst anti-Nintendo trolls.

Have to keep an eye on you now...

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Isn't the Wii U backwards compatible?

After Sony announced PS4 would not feature native BC for our PSN content, I've been thinking about getting a Wii U for Nintendo's amazing back catalogue and for the great games that will inevitability come to the Wii U.

However I can understand how those with a Wii wouldn't have any need of the BC on the Wii U, but I think thats a good opportunity for those of us who don't have a Wii to get the Wii U.

I think he is doing this too soon, I mean, I did not bought the WIIU, but that is because I have a PS3-XBOX360, so I knew the games would be too similar.
Also, I have a 3ds and barelly touch it, so, there were no reason, but it was just a matter of taste, nowdays, I prefer Little Big Planet than Mario, so it is JUST taste.

However, if he bought the WIIU, I think he should hang to it, good games will come and it is obviousllly something he really enjoys, I mean, Nintendo games.

Do what makes you happy. If Nintendo, the oldest console maker on the market, doesn't know how to keep fans interested and can't keep enough games coming for their loyal customers and early adopters, then I understand why you'd move on to greener pastures.

I've been playing my Wii U fairly regularly but the games I've been playing are Batman and Ninja Gaiden. Hardly anything that can't be found anywhere else.

The present isn't too great but the future of the Wii U looks pretty positive. There's no way I'm missing out on Monlith Soft's RPG and SMTXFireEmblem.

Since it's release however it has been pretty dire. Strange time to trade it in though considering the games aren't too far away now.

At that moment you buy a product it will lose 20% of that money you paid-that's walk of live.I was referring to the future.

1)imo It was no mistake to buy a new ps3 as long as ps+ is included. You'll pay around 150 for a used ps3 and have to pay 40-50 for ps+.

Considering this:Buying a new ps3 incl. ps+ is definitivly not a poor financial decision ,especially when you consider the full warranty you don't get by buying a used console.

(selling wii u on ebay may have been a better deal than at the retailer)

2)now lets take a look at the future(pricecut):Considering Wii u to drop 25%-33%(just like n64 and 3ds did) the used wii u's will drop the same way(not in the first 2-3 weeks, but than )A new Wii u basic will cost almost the same a new ps3 does.therefore a used wii u should be almost as expensive as a used ps3.

Will there be a ps3 price drop?

I don't think so.Sony and Microsoft know some people may buy the ps360 instead of their new consoles as soon as the price difference gets too huge-and as the old consoles are selling well, there is no need for a pricecut.

No pricecut= he can sell his ps3 for 150-160 and buy a wii u for 180-190=playing 8-10 month and having a difference of 20-30 dollar is not what I 'd call-loss of money-,especially not if you consider the 50-80 games he will get for free from ps+.
