Why did you like Catherine? M rated JRPG games tend to have a very awesome vibe. Drakengard has some amazing voice acting, and a really interesting, psychodelic plot. It questions how you view some people, and some of the main characters really change. Plus the game had 5 endings, and you can unlock them all on one playthrough (completing a game grants you an earlier save and access to a different plot direction).

It's just really awesome because after you beat the game, you play the later part of the game as if different events occured. The game genuinely surprises you, and the last two endings are properly f***ed up.

I'm playing Nier on the basis that Drakengard was so good, but so far I'm not seeing it. Drakengard was just an amazing game, and it's so well done that I think people could get nightmares playing this.

This is why the HD gen isn't as good as the PS2 gen! Not enough risks like giant floating killer oversized infants!

I was telling my friend about that ending a few months ago. I was like "Yeah dude, it seems  a lot of games are playing it safe these days. There is still a lot of untapped potential in fantasy settings instead of "omg look, dragons!....again." Drakengard DOES have dragons, but they aid the player, the actual antagonist is something else entirely.

Nier staff are back ! This is really exciting. Nier lacks at places but probably has the best story and OST this gen.

Good to know they got the right people working on it!

The OST is simply amazing.

PS3 Exclusives tend to have much higher quality compared to Multiplat Games or exclusives from other consoles for maybe except some Nintendo Stuff.
People just want their games to be as good as possible if it has to be on consoles.It's more messed up to wish for a bad game cause someone did chose the wrong platform.


Drakengard - Man still have memories about the franchise.

Sadly that is true. Nier is the perfect example of how going multiplat can damage promising titles.

It was an obviously small production from a  small studio that couldn't afford to develop for two different architectures with the results we all know.

 Nier sales on the xbox (0.25m) are half of those on the PS3 (0.5m), despite Cavia going the extra mile to customize the "Gestalt" (west) version with a different "not feminine" hero for the shake of the xbox.

I'm sorry but the 360 kinda comfirmed its reputation as a bro-console and not one for games like NIER or Drakengard.

I watched one of my brothers play Drakengard 1 and 2 back then and I kinda liked it but I never played any of them, I remember he kept unlocking harder modes and new swords in one of them and I think he got stuck in a boss fight against a dragon while he was riding his dragon.

Those two seemed good and I played Nier and I loved it so I'll most probably like this game too! :D So I can't wait :) I hope it really is for PS3 :P. The soundtrack in this could be awesome and the story too! :D
