So Gamestop had 500,000 console preorders? So if everyone of the 600,000 people who signed up to be the first to know preorder a Ps4 there will be a lot more demand...

I can't see Sony going over $499 price point this gen... that was a bad decision last ten and they will not make the same mistake.

I know but it seems to like they wont have much of a choice. The price for DDR5 is going to explode in next few months or year. Sony will take a hit for every sold system but I don´t how much they can take. 499$ would be fine I guess.

He shall get it back next month.

I agree but I think the GDDR5 cost is not that expensive like the Blu-ray drive in PS3 (over $300 alone).

They need to make sure the price is right though.

Wii U did sell pretty well at launch didn't it? Below Wii, but above PS3 or 360, right?


Well to be fair gamestop did say they had 500K wiiu preorders and that the demand was so high they even started taking peoples names down on waiting lists.

Then when the sales come in at under 500K for ALL retaiers in the USA, people went WTF considering gamestop blew their load early and said that stuff.

Wii U actually had a pretty awesome launch

It wasnt till the past 2 months sales dive bombed

it really didn't have a great launch, sure if you compare the launch to consoles that were extremely suppley constrained, and a 600$ console, it sold a bit better but if you compare to consoles like the xbox and gc, xbox almost doubled it sales in the same time frame in the us, so i knew would sell horrible on jan, i predicted 59k, and it sold 57k.
