As for 360, $130 + $20 + $20 = $170, and you get 3 games for that price (Gears Triple Pack is 2 games plus DLC). That's less then what they cost brand new (3 x $60 = $180). Plus 360 has a lot more to offer then just Halo, Alan Wake, and Gears of War. Mass Effect 1, Lost Odyssey, Tales of Vesperia, Infinite Undiscovery, The Witcher 2, Fable 2 and 3, Crackdown 1 & 2, Forza Motorsport 2 - 4 + Horizon, PGR 3 and 4, Too Human, Viva Pinyata, etc.

Basic addition eludes me sometimes. Thank you.

I don't buy games when they release, so comparing that to new prices doesn't fly with me. The only games I've purchased at retail price lately have been Dark Souls and Gran Turismo 5. I don't know much about Lost Odyssey, Tales, Infinite. Witcher 2 looks okay, heard Fable sucks balls, Crackdown I heard good things about, Forza meh after Gran Turismo I found out I'm really not that into such games. I just appreciate the car porn. Heard Viva Pinata is awesome. So we're talking maybe 5 games. Not worth the $200 to me.

If you're happy with what PS3 offers, you don't need a 360, Most of the library overlap (multiplatform titles).

That's really what it boils down to. There aren't enough titles that interest me to justify the purchase.

Also if you really want to play Gears of War online, you can buy a 1 month gold card for $8 I believe. Most 360 exclusives (RPG's) don't require online access or play. Besides, this game has an amazing single player component.

I refuse to pay to play online out of principle.

$200 is a lot considering PS3 satisfies you. Maybe some XB1 games would change your mind? (All 360's are backward compatible). Conker and Shenmue 2 are excellent games, plus Bioware made great RPG exclusives back then (KOTOR and Jade Empire). Plus the last Panzer Dragoon game was an XB exclusive. Probably not, so for you a 360 makes no sense, especially with how many multiplatform games there are.

However, in general $130 for a 360 console is still a pretty good deal, especially for people into Halo, Gears, Forza, or just RPG's in general. Lost Odyssey is my second favorite RPG this gen after Mass Effect 2.

It may not be good for you (just like how a lot of people ignore the Wii), but I think in general, it's still a nice offer. For me, I plan to get Microsoft platforms late into the generation, just to take advantage of the handful of good exclusives which I think they get.

As for "your principle" many new games come with either 2 day, or 2 week XBLG trials. Thats about the only time I ever go online with my 360. I used to subscribe, but they don't sell 1 month cards at retailers in Canada (Can get them online though), and I never get interested in a game enough to want to play it online for over a month.

I owned the Nintendo DS since launch and wasn't interested in the PSP for quite some time.

With the help of the poor first few years of the DS and  the  announcement of Gundam Battle Royale the PSP gained my interest. I preordered Gundam Battle Royale and then purchased a PSP, Maverick Hunter X, and Mega Man Powered Up.

I still like the DS, because there are a lot of quality games on there, but even though the PSP released fewer games, the majority of them were very high quality offering a lot of content. I also purchased PSP games that came out prior to my purchase of the PSP, like Gurumin and others that are also very good games.  I own around 70-100 games for each system, the PSP and DS.  They're both amazing systems.

This gen for portables I purchased the Vita when it came out and the 3DS afterwards. Currently I still like the Vita better because the games are all much better, but that's not to say that the 3DS won't win me over. While the Vita is does have games coming in the next few months, the 3DS games that have just been released or release in the coming months interest me more. Fire Emblem, Lords of Shadow Mirror of Fate, and Soul Hackers..

The 3DS and Vita are almost neck and neck when it comes to game quality. It really depends on what comes out for both systems in the future. So while I prefer the Vita and the Vita is currently in the lead. Nothing saysy the 3DS can't come back from it.

Yeah I jump around a lot, not only for game consoles. But from consoles to PC back to consoles etc.

I'm still happy with my Wii.

But my son went from GC to PS2 and all my kids (3) from Wii to 360.

My brother (a Sony fanboy if there ever was one) went from PS3 - Wii because PS3 had dick all for his kids to play.
